Stampeders 33, Roughriders 10

Anybody else as shocked as I am?

I'm on the Matt Dunigan bandwagon for a week!

Apparentely Calgary's not that strong a team.

I know Saskatchewan's without the starting QB, but the Stampeders are maybe the worst CFL team.

Wow...just, wow...
So many people have said the Roughriders are the team to beat this year. Now they're 0-2. I mean, yeah they lost Greene, but some predicted Burris would replace him this year as the #1. But I suppose when your third-stringer (Butler) is starting, things don't look good anyways.

Well, the thing is this. The CFL preseason is very short. Teams aren't really in the swing of things yet, and you are consequently seeing some wacky results.

The 'Riders looked horrible today. The defence was bad. The offence was bad. The Special Teams weren't good. All around bad-day. They need that offence to get going, and that likely means Burris.

As for the Stamps, well I'm pleasantly surprised. I still think that this team will be hard-pressed to make the playoffs, but hey, it was a nice win. That defense (especially the LB) looked darn good today. The WR look good too. Crandell survived the pressure for this week.

A win's a win, and I'll take that from a Calgary standpoint. We'll see what this club is really like next week when they play the ALS though.

It seems as if Dunigans controversial training camp cuts and selections are paying dividends. Now we have a bunch of guys that are playing their hearts out because Matt gave them a chance.

If Crandell can step up his game, it looks like were in good shape. We've got a bunch of recievers that look like they can do some damage and hopefully our defense can step it up some more because it will have to be our strong point again this year.

The running game will kill us though. Playing with 5 recievers isn't that great when your quarterback is sketchy. And I'm still very worried about kicking. After eons with McLoughlin, I'm not sure I like the idea of a new kicker.
