Favorite Dev Line?

Somthing new for us Devil fans to talk about. Favorite Dev line of all time. Please help my brother and I settle an ongoing thing.

Kid Line (82)- Paul Gagne-Aaron Broten-Jeff Larmer (oldie but a goodie)
Crash Line (95)- Mike Peluso-Bobby Holik-Randy McKay
A Line (00)- Patrik Elias-Jason Arontt-Petr Sykora

I never saw the Kid Line play, unfortunately. Between the Crash Line and the A Line, I can't really decide. I loved both when they were around. If I had to choose, probably the A Line.

Crash line, because crashing and banging is what hockey's about. They were awesome.

The A-Line all the way. The chemistry on that line was simply amazing. I still have the Game 6 in which they beat Dallas on tape, and even though Sykora didn't make through the whole game(thanks to that @$^@@& Hatcher), it still sends chills down my spine watching that line play together.

That pass to end it... Elias, blind behind the back from the corner surrounded by Stars, puck right onto Arnott's stick, into the open net.... :bow:

I remember at the party in the parking lot after that win they showed about 10 minutes of the overtime on the big screens they had outside the arena... increadible. Absolutely fantastic display of skill.

Though the EGG-Line certainly have been dynomite

Although the A line was no doubt the best line, I can certainly say I enjoy watching the EGG line more than any other line in hockey. Being so small, they get to throw out the tricks :) So much fun to watch, so creative, so intense...


Oh, and I'm a Gionta fanatic..

I loved the A-Line and enjoy the EGGers too. For my money though, the Crash Line completely epitomized the Devils of 1995. They were blue-collared, unproven dominators back then. This was before Holik figured out that he was an All-Star and just slightly before Randy McKay understood his role as a scorer. They were a forechecking force that played with passion. Nobody on the Devils knew they were supposed to win back then. They were just a few years removed from being the "Mickey Mouse Organization." The Crashers put fear in the Devils' opponents and put the Devils' opponents on their heels. Great, great line.

Bill Guerin's line was awesome

I'd have to say the Crash Line. Watching Peluso bang the Red Wings around in the finals and then crying like a baby at the end of game 4 will stay with me for a while.

I saw all three lines over the years and it is a tough one between the A-Line and the Crash Line as I like both of them but I would have to give the edge to the A-Line... No other line will ever come close to what numbers the A-Line produced...

Just kidding. The best line to watch was the A-Line, hands down. Although the line of Mogilny, Gomez, and Brylin was pretty special, if you ask me. Nothing like Gomez breaking into the zone, putting on the brakes, drop-passing to AlMo, who wristed it over a hapless Curtis Joseph.

It was Brylin's best year offensively. Wasn't it Holik, McKay, and Brylin? I don't remember who played with Gomez and AlMo, but I don't think he was much of a scorer. They were more of a two-some as I recall.

I could have sworn Brylin played wing on that line, and he had his best season ever since Mogilny was a Russian and knew Brylin's tendencies. Could be mistaken, however. I thought Nemchinov was on the Holik - McKay line, or some thug.

Brylin played on that line most of the time, and all through 2001, although I can also recall Claude Lemieux playing wing on that line. It was definitely Brylin for the most part though - he got a lot of goals off Mogilny rebounds.

Lemieux did play with Gomez and Mogilny on the 1999-2000 stanley cup winning team. The 2000-01 team (the one that led the league in scoring) didn't have Lemieux on the roster. He was in Phoenix by then. Maybe I'm thinking of the Cup run in 99-00 when Brylin played with Holik and McKay, but I could have sworn it was in 2000-01.

That's the list for the cup run. In 2001, Brylin played the whole season with Gomez and Mogilny. I'm pretty sure.

There might not be an EGG line if Gomez is traded tomorrow in the NHL draft... So we could be seeing the EPG line with Elias-Parise-Gionta...

i would say A-Line, but EGG's comin' on strong.

First, a Elias-Parise-Gionta would probably be called the PEG line.

Second, Gomez isn't going anywhere. This EGG line is hard boiled for now.

Third, I'm not sorry for the non-eggsellent pun.

YEp...3G...5A one a pretty behind the back number.....too bad his back didn't hold up ..the Devs could have used him in the early 90's
