Just me, but I'd take Prior, Zambrano, Wood and Clement over those guys (can't count Burnett as a positive considering his injury and struggles since returning).

The Cubs and Oakland are far and away the two best young pitching staffs.

I'd rank them like this...

1A. Chicago Cubs
1B. Oakland A's
2. Florida Marlins

Oakland and Chicago could be flipped. Either way, you're getting a staff you'd have a tough time complaining about.

You can't judge a pitcher two or three games after returning from tommy john.
Burnett has, IMO, the best stuff of any Marlins pitcher when he is healthy.

I'd take the Marlins staff over any other.

Burnett is still a wait and see, he can be Benson or he can be Wood post TJ

the only pitcher on the Marlins that gets me giddy is Beckett, Willis is good though overrated, Beckett does not compete with Prior.. Zito has lost velocity and hasn't been the same since his cy young year, I would take Hudson over him now at this point even Mulder

Prior
Hudson
Mulder
Wood
Zito
Beckett*
Zambrano*

thats how i rank em, i left a * there for the two guys that can rise up that list, i think Beckett eventually will be up there between Prior-Hudson range

i like the cubs staff most because of potential, oak's staff gets nod for current best staff however

While certainly nowhere close to the A's, Cubs or Fish in terms of depth, the Indians have a top 3 which is almost as good as anyones right now. Sabathia, Lee and Westbrook. Traber looked awesome last year, but like Burnett, needed Tommy John. Won't be until next year until we see him in action again. Also, I'm not trying to say the Indians are next in line after the Cubs, A's and Fish. I'm sure there may be a couple other teams who are up there too.

I wouldn't call the A's a 'young' staff. They are just getting to the age where Oakland is going to have to trade a couple of them away because they can't sign them.

My vote is for the Cubs, but the fish are a close second.

All 3 are signed to multi-year deals though.

I'd take the A's pitching staff first anyday, but I am a little biased ;)

But I really like the Cub's staff, not to say that the Marlins don't have great pitching because they do. Pavano is very underrated and he is starting to pitch to his potential.

Yeah Zito has definately lost something, I am thinking that by the end of the season Harden will take his #3 spot in the rotation.

Add Billy Koch to the Marlins. Though, he's not exactly a real "young-gun".

While the Angels don't have a young pitching staff, they have a very young up-and-coming pitcher, Francisco Rodriguez. This guy really amazed me in 2002, and has continued to amaze me ever since. I really hope he pans out.

Yeah he is great coming out of the pen, which is the biggest problem of the A's.

They're not the best but I really like the Chi Sox pitching....

Garland and Buehrle are both under 24 and both will eventually be aces.

Loaiza is their ace right now but he's 30.

Maybe in a couple of year X8oD. Sleeth and Verlander both have #1 potential (both last two #1 draft picks). Bonderman is still very young, i think he is old enough to buy beer now. Will Ledezma is have a great year at AA. Heck he pitched decent last year for the Tigers as a Rule 5 pick up. And Joel Zumaya is another good looking left.

Nate has been a real suprise in Detroit. Not many thought he would earn the #5 starter after spring training. Now he has been their best starter.

Just think how good the Marlins staff would be if they still had Robertson.

Weak is one way to put it, they have blown a bunch of games over the past week or so. :banghead:

What happened to Chad Bradford?

I heard Billy Beane was interested in Byun-Hyun Kim before he got injured a while ago....

Bradford is having a very off year. He was almost unhittable last year but it seems everyone has figured him out this year.

As for Kim... that's a scary thought

LOL!!

Billy Koch is the worst closer in MLB, arguably the worst in the last 10 years, and Im absolutely amazed anyone took a chance on this guy. He has two pitches. One is a foot outside, and the other is right down the pipe at 92 mph.

How you marlins fans liking him? I heard he's already blown one game for you.
