I wouldn't mind seeing [UND bound] BC Cen. Travis Zajac:http://sasilverbacks.com/roster.php?pid=45 falling a few places to NJ

Why is it that so many mock drafts have us taking a goalie? In my opinion that the the least of our needs. Is this a special year for goalies or something(meaning there is a plethora of potential # 1's out there)?

Yes. It's probably the only really strong part of this draft. I can't see us taking one regardless.

pft, goalies...........you can get really good ones in the 9th round if you try hard enough.

Brodeur 20th overall.

I think the point was, that it is generally easier to find a diamond-in-the-rough in the late rounds in goal than in any other positions. For every Brodeur, Luongo or Fleury there is a Vokuon, Khabibulin or Kiprusoff who was drafted very late.
Another reason I don't want to take a goalie with our first pick is that unless they are proven, young goalies have very little trade value. Look at Ahonen, he has been everything we hoped since we drafted him in the 1st round and yet we probably still couldn't get more than a 2nd round pick for him right now.

I don't want Graham, he sounds like another Mike Rupp, Big and soft as a teddy bear.

Especially when the mock drafts have Mike Green still on the board. If we take a goalie with him still avaliable...

Seems like an easy strategy towards drafting goalies is like drafting pitchers in baseball.....draft a ton of them in the later rounds and one of them probably will turn out good.
Didn't make too much sense taking Ahonen two years after using a 1st on J.F. Damphousse, so you never know. Plus it's just mock drafts anyhow.

Devils need to draft a goalie like the Rangers need to sign another washed up veteran... Just ridiculious... Do not need another goaltender... What they need is a stay home defenseman with size.
