I don't mind Hale and White, but I'd like a second pairing, physical defenseman so Hale can continue to develop on the third pairing. Brown is not the answer. But the Devils could really use another veteran defenseman as they were missing Ken Danyeko and his leadership on and off the ice as it showed... I would like to see Hill come to the Devils...

It wasn't Hill. It was his agent that he fired shortly after he messed up... Hill wanted to go to either New Jersey or Toronto but his agent forced the issue of a deal for next season as well... Both teams said no thanks after that...

I don't want Hill. He's too old and expensive anyway.
Don't want Zhitnik for the same reason. Though I'd want him over Hill. I at least respect Zhitnik.

I'm still amazed there was no plan B or C in place for the Devils losing out on a player like him though at the trade deadline when it was readily apparent that the only news on Scott Stevens' return was "no new updates" everytime the question was posed to Lou or Pat. Seemed very un-Lou like both then and now to me.


I know you think Lou would have made a deal for a veteran defenseman at the trade deadline last season... :banghead: But maybe he was figuring that Stevens would return for the playoffs and it didn't work out... Hill or Witt would have been a good fit for the Devils... Still could be...
