Just thought some of you might be interested to hear that Noedl was at the Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL) tryout camp. Sioux Falls is where Thomas Vanek played before going to college.

Interesting news. The site seems to be offline... Any word on how he did there? I see him being the best young player coming out of Austria since Oliver Setzinger along with Ex-Teammate Raffael Rotter.

These two played last season in the second austrian league on the same line and dominated at times (both are 87's). Rotter's on the small side, but highly skilled and a big heart, Nödl has good size, uses it very good to protect the puck and has huge offensive upside.

I don't get to see any USHL games but I do try to follow the league. Most of the info I could give you is pretty easily accesible (stats and other stuff can be found at USHL.com) but if I hear anything about him that you might find interesting I'll post it here.

Austrian Philip Pinter was drafted by Des Moines in this years USHL-draft. Do you know, why Nödl wasn't drafted? Is he allowed to play if he wasn't drafted?

It's quite possible that nobody in the league knew about him. USHL teams can't really afford to scout Europe so any European player that is interested in the league has to be pro-active.

You don't have to be drafted to play in the league at this time so if he makes the team (which I assume he will) he's in.

Any word on if he will be on the roster next year?

Teams are actually supposed to submit thier 25 man rosters to the league today (July 1st). I'm not positive that the rosters will be made public at this point in time, although it's possible. I guess we'll see soon enough.
