I can't go in depth about him, because you don't really recognize him when he plays and I usually don't concentrate on single players, but I'll try ;)

Martin Walter
185cm ; 84kg

Reg. Season: 51 games: 0 goals + 9 assists
playoffs: 11 games: 0 goals + 1 assist

I don't think he is ready for the NHL right now. He is too soft for such a physical league. He is a good stay at home defender with very good positioning, but I haven't seen him throw his body around.

Takes few penalties (12 reg. + 2 in playoffs), led the team in +/- in his first DEL season.
Played a lot when the team was shorthanded, but never on the powerplay.

Good speed, not Sturm, but not slow either.

Has a good outlet pass, but not much offense. If he has a shot I haven't seen it yet (only 17 shots in 51 regular season games).

Could be on the national team roster again, when Greg Poss takes over after the World Cup. Germany's roster already has some young guys on D for the World Cup (Ehrhoff, Seidenberg, Schubert), so Franz Reindl went with experience for the remaining roster spots.
