Reporting to NJ next week for off season strength testing. This is who they are looking at to crack the Devils line up come Sept prospects wise...
--F Cam Janssen will be joining the group...bit of a surprise...
Easy, just to clarify, this is the group of young guys they expect to possibley fill roles for this season full time. I should have said prospects and young guys fighting for jobs. I know Martin and Hale were already up last year. And although they are not all the top prospects experience or stats wise, they are the top guys who they've got certain holes to fill with.
I agree with MacIsaac as to why we don't see players like Suglobov and others in this group, those skill jobs are full at the moment.

But some of those arent our top 3 prospects ...
David Puddy 06-09-2004, 09:14 AM Paul Martin and David Hale were rookies in 2003-04, so they are not prospects any longer. Martin saw action in 70 games for the Devils, while Hale played in 65.

lol, so if that was supposed to be inside info........ :joker:
devildan 06-09-2004, 11:03 AM Lets not forget that Suglobov, Pihlman, Vrana etc would easily rank above Nittel and Voros on the foward side and Kaydekin over Demarchi on the defensive side.

No, it is show that they are not prospects. They have both just completed their rookie seasons. Capisce? Whoever considers them prospects must have missed the 2003-04 season.
That being said, it is interesting news, and I thank OFSY34 for posting it. I recall John Madden would work out in New Jersey during the summer, at least one off-season, while he was playing in Albany.

They are much better but Nittel and Voros could easily get the 4th line job over them which is what NJ may be looking for, more toughness and size.
MissionHockey 06-09-2004, 08:46 PM Then give the spot to Pihlman. He is suposed to be brought up as a 2nd/3rd line PF.

Pihlman needs another year in the AHL atleast. Voros and Nittel are allready have the style to jump in right away. Why give Pihlman limited time on the 4th line also when he can play key minutes in the AHL.

No, I was saying if OFSY34 was giving what he thought was inside info, and was calling Martin and Hale prospects, I was laughing at him :)

I was thinking the same thing especially Suglobov and Vrana...
