Is Tampa worthy? Yeah

I'd immagine the Flames feel somewhat like NJ in '01 . Up 3-2 with 2 to try and seal it. We didn't and they didn't either. I picked the Flames, and rooted for them too.
Tampa is a worthy champ, though I don't think they had the hardest time of it. It wasn't like 2000 with us coming back 1-3 against Flyers [after TML] and then facing a very good Dallas team.

TB First EC cup winner since '94 ** other than ourselves, of course}.

Tampa IS deserving, because they've got alot of Canadians, always a good ingredient for a Cup champ :lol

I'm disappointed that Calgary choked so horribly in the last 2 games (mostly because it reminded me of 2001), but I don't mind seeing Tampa win. I still don't like Lecavalier and Tortarella, but I'm a fan of St. Louis, Richards, and Andreychuk...and I love seeing Fedotenko play such a big part in a cup win after all the talk about how Tampa got fleeced in that Pitkanen trade (cue Flyers fan to tell me why Pitkanen will be much more valuable in the future...). Anyways, congrats to Tampa on a cup well earned. Now I will pop in the 2003 DVD and watch the highlights of the NJ/Tampa series :)

I think something similar in terms of SAT analogies: Sykora : Friesen :: Pitkanen : Fedotenko. Flyers and Ducks probably ended up with the better player, but the Lightning and the Devils won the head to head series and got to skate with the Cup.

Even though we beat them in 5 games last year, you could see they were only going to get better. It's funny now, but last year people were saying what an easy round we had to the cup. Congrats Tampa!

You gotta be kidding me. No matter what is said, ANY team other than the Devils winning the Cup SUCKS. I love Dave Andreychuk and I'm glad to see him finally win it (retire?), but I despise the egos of St. Louis and The Fonz. Now we'll hear it all year next year.

Still, first team from the East to win it in like a decade besides Jersey.

Aha! That's what this Lightning fan popped into your board to ask about since I figured some of you folks picked one up last year when the Devils won it all. Does this mean you can recommend getting the Stanley Cup DVD? :)

I bought the Devils Stanley Cup 2002-2003 Champions DVD, and I still watch it from time to time. The bad part about it is that Whoopie Goldberg, for whatever reason, does the narration for the year in review part. I can't stand that woman

It does have some nice additional items, as I'm sure this year's Tampa Bay DVD will have. On the Devils DVD, they show Marty Brodeur going around to interviews after his Game 7 victory over J.S. Giguere. They have an HD version of the 3rd Period of Game 7 (though it is often at odd angles and they show the Ducks coming onto the ice at the beginning of the period, but not the Devils.) The best thing is the complete 3rd Period ESPN broadcast of Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals (Jeff Friesen's goal still gives me chills and I don't know how I didn't have a nervous breakdown during that game.)

I say get the Lightning DVD. It should only cost about $15-20, and it will last your lifetime.

I started off rooting for the flames, but gave it up once all (most) of canada joined with them to they started *****ing about the refs and whatnot as a group. Yes, TB is a worthy winner and they will be around for a long time. Here is to TB for winning me over and proving me wrong all at the same time.

P.S Prince Vince is my new favorite hockey player outside the Devils ... he is just amazing. I can now kind of see why he was once touted as being the MJ of hockey.

I was rooting for the Bolts from the beginning, I just couldn't bear watching Dave Andreychuk losing the cup, it was really my only reason for it.

I think Tampa Bay is worthy and congratulations to the Tampa Bay Lightning becoming the Stanley Cup Champions! :handclap: Congrats to Dave Andreychuk after 22 years of waiting... No he can retire like Daneyko and Borque did... It does suck though that the Devils have company now as Tampa bay joins the Devils as the only Eastern Conference team to win the Stanley Cup in the last 10 years... :D

Congrats Tampa Bay!

Tampa Bay is definitely worthy! They led a really tight Eastern Conference, and-more importantly-they won their series in the playoffs. It was awesome seeing Dave Andreychuk hold up the Cup. Totally awesome.

I hope they remain as a good team, they would make great rivals for the New Jersey Devils.

Aside: I am a chump for not buying the DVDs/tapes. I really should get them this summer.
