Patrick 05-25-2004, 08:47 PM where are all you tampa fans? .
At the game...
But most game discussion goes on at another Lightning board.
exterminator-x 05-25-2004, 09:02 PM This board is used mostly for prospect discussion. Want to talk about Mike Egener of the Hitmen? ;)
Sotnos 05-26-2004, 04:54 AM Asked and answered...guess we're going to get this every series. People are DYING to know what we think, but only when we lose. :shakehead
Dropkick Alex 05-26-2004, 06:01 AM If I'm not mistaken, alot of you guys are season ticket holders correct?
Pantherfemme 05-26-2004, 09:36 AM If I'm not mistaken, alot of you guys are season ticket holders correct?

Not true I have been here after wins. :)
Little upset at the lose, but hey I look at it as you can't win 'em all. It would be nice. It was only game one.
aapbolt 05-26-2004, 11:10 AM Uh maybe because most of us have real lives after hockey. I went to the game and then came home to help my wife becasue my kids fell asleep watching the game and looking for me on tv. so you can take your comments and .... geez same old junk, how bloody pathetic.
Hockeyfan02 05-26-2004, 11:59 AM We dont use this board for game threads or stuff like that. There is another board we use for game threads and discussion on the Lightning, but its more of a private thing and we dont really want other fans on there. Its just our preference. Also, some of us (like myself) have been going to the playoff games so your not going to find some of us talking about the game when were actually at the game. I dont feel like bring my labtop to a playoff game just to make this board active. BTW, this is the "what cup?" :shakehead Yeah I've seen your comments about our fanbase on the gdts and its really not appreciated so you can get lost for all I care. When you insult us like that, dont expect a warm welcome here.
Jeffoo 05-26-2004, 02:11 PM Tampa isnt excactly a hockey city you know. I think its so stupid the leauge is moving teams to the south. There are so many dead markets down there Tampa being one of them.
Colorada, Detroit, and New Jersey might be the only exceptions. The leauge would do so much better if the teams stayed up here, the NHL wouldent be in this lock out situation. __________________________________________________ ____________________

GoBolts 05-26-2004, 02:30 PM I'm assuming, Jeffoo, you skipped the thread on the Lightning board regarding trolling.

Yeah, New Jersey is a model franchise when it comes to southern city attendance figures. Nice one. Detroit is one helluva southern city, too, but with better attendance than NJ. Denver the same. I'm pretty sure I learned geography with my spelling up in Canada, so I'm not sure what the excuse is there.
I'm sure the "leauge" would be very well off with Calgary playing Flin Flon in the Cup Final. That's at least 5 dollars of revenue coming in.

You do realize that Tampa Bay has set the last 5 records for attendance at a game, correct?

New Jersey? The same New Jersey that finished 23rd in attendance this last year (15,059 per game), while the Lightning finished 12th (17,820 per game)?
The leauge would do so much better if the teams stayed up here, the NHL wouldent be in this lock out situation.
Other teams not "up there" who had worse average attendance than the Lightning: Ottawa, Edmonton, Buffalo, Boston, Washington, Islanders, Pittsburgh and, <gasp> Calgary.
I also doubt our $10-$11 million below league average payroll is causing lockout problems. :)
I'm having trouble understanding your logic as to "dead markets." :dunno:

Apparently he did, so I will make it easy for him: link. (http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=69082)
I can't tell you privately to read the rules and heed them since you don't have your PMs on, Jeffoo, so consider yourself warned in front of all these nice people.
The crap that's going on in this thread is precisely why this board is not as busy.
We are not interested in retarded other teamer's pathetic rips on a market and team they know absolutely nothing about. That's why we keep to ourselves on our own relatively top secret board and save this one for the prospect talk for the most part.
The fact is that many of the other teamers have nothing worthwhile to add to our discussion. It reflects on you, not us. :p:

Oh please. Dead market? Like Boltsfan said we out average Ottawa, Edmonton, and Calgary in attendance and have averaged over 21,000 at our last 5 home playoff games. Not exactly dead. The NHL would still be in the lockout situation if all 30 teams were Canadian because the players and owners would still be fretting over a cap/tax. And like Hoek said people like you who think the south shouldnt have hockey teams and have a biased against our teams in the contraction threads are why we have a board where we discuss our team without people like you. And its people like you who pay more attention to the city where the team comes from and would consider the cup "tainted" if a team from Florida won it, when its the 20 guys in the room who are busting their ass to win a cup and their hard work would "taint" the cup as much as the 20 players in Calgary busting their ass to win the cup would "taint" it.

It is because this team is in FLORIDA. If this team would be in Winnepeg or Quebec city it would be a Model Franchise. Showing how you with good management can get a below average payroll team to do good and still fill one of the biggest buildings in the league with fans.
Somehow i feel the FLORIDA part is a key part like it always is when we are getting bashed

We had Geography classes when i went to school a longtime ago and from this i know Detroit is on the border to Canada so is the conclusion of southern teams, Teams that are south of the USA-Canada border ????
And if you want to compare Tampa to the Devils i would be excited since we all know Pat Burns said. I hate to see our Attendance if we sucked
TB_FANATIC 05-27-2004, 01:26 AM I think he was making an attempt to smoke Lightning fans out of the wood works. Its too bad he looked like an idiot in the process.
In short, like everyone else has mentioned; we have our own "secret" board. Too many unknowledgable pop tarts from other teams floating around here for constructive discussion, and few of us Bolt fans have the patience to hold hands as we walk the noobies thrue some of the more obvious facts regarding our team. We have exhibit A-11X as proof
McDonald19 05-27-2004, 09:17 PM Lecavalier was great tonight. He is my ConnSmyth pick.
Andre Roy should have just settled things with Iginla right at that last faceoff rather than letting Iginla start a linebrawl with no time on the clock. If Iginla was so eager to fight why not just settle it off the faceoff with Roy?
credit to Stillman for being accountable for his actions and dropping the gloves with Ference.
aapbolt 05-28-2004, 06:58 AM Oh my jeffoo- go back to hiding under your bridge and only come out whane the flames win again, which we hope will not be again until next year.
