There was a rumour last night here in Toronto that Carlo Delgado was pulled last night because he had been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Blue Jay's GM JP Ricciardi denied the rumours, but we all know to take a GM's word with a grain of salt.

I hope they get more for him than THAT!

Not sure who Brian Morris is... but if they've scouted him as well as they scouted Jason Frasor, it may turn out to be a nice trade. I wouldn't want Encarnacion... I'd move Delgado for a package of pitching prospects.

Encarnacion has a 2 year deal at $8,000,000 left.

I was gonna say. Sure he's had a slow start, but he was a legit triple crown thread last year and it's not as though it was a fluke obviously. His power is unquestioned, although his average fluctuates.

Encarnacion is really nothing special. I'm not sure about the prospect, but it's not Edwin Jackson or anything. We'll see.

the Jays have to get out of that trade with at least one of Willy Aybar, Greg Miller or Edwin Jackson

Most misleading title topic ever. He's still on the roster, he hasn't been traded anywhere.

1) Delgado is injured, not traded.

2) J.P. was asked during the game last night and he said no.

3) The Dodgers front office said no.

4) Even if he was traded, J.P. wouldn't take him out of a game and trade him. J.P. isn't disrespectful.

5) Juan Encarnanion sucks, the Jays would have no interest in him and his low OBP.

6) "Brian Morris" isn't a real prospect.

This whole thing is BS. It was just a damn stupid rumor started on ESPN radio that some Dodger fans liked. I mean come on, J.P. isn't a BSer, he doesn't lie.

What's misleading about a thread title that states that it is just a rumour. :dunno:

.

When a player is traded while he is playing a game 99.9% of the time the other team requires the player to be taken out. If a Manager doesn't the other team is allowed to void the deal if they want.

I didn't mean it that way though...

Carlos Delgado has played like 10 years in Toronto, they're not going to pull him from a game and say "Hey, we traded you, good luck."

In any event, Delgado has a NTC as a 10/5 player I believe (10 years in majors, 5 with same team.)

You almost never see those kind of deals this early in the season. There is always time after the game to close a deal. Were you do see players getting pulled from games due to a trade, is at the trade deadline. It happens then because if the team doesn't pull their man, the other team likely has another deal waiting for him from another team.

Yeah, I know but I wanted to point out that the team that traded the player has the right to demand the player be benched. If not the deal can be voided.

It has happend before.

That should be the biggest tip-off. I have the complete Dodgers' american prospect roster for this season (you can get this from Baseball America) and for last season and he doesn't appear anywhere on it. So, unless the guy was playing in Mexico or the Dominican somewhere last season, he doesn't exist.

So that means 1 of 2 things - the trade is a complete fabrication or the source misheard the name of the prospect involved. I'm leaning towards the fabrication.

Yep, Brian Morris is a fake prospect.
