Prospal is Anaheim's only representative on the team
I would of figured Sykora would of went as well, Skoula was another candidate

Wierd Sykora is not on the team. Is there an injury we don't know about?
Good for Prospal though. Congrats

Sykora and Skoula should be there. Carney should be on team USA.
this sucks. :shakehead

Carney is American (but he probably was close to making it on the US team, I think it's better if he spends the summer resting up, he had a lot of nagging injuries)
Apparently the story on Sykora is that he's getting married this summer...

oops I knew that...meant USA...fixed it...Canada's roster is too deep for someone like Carney to make, but USA's roster on the other hand...Carney should have been there...
At least theres a good reason for Sykora not playing in the tournament then...now will the ladies in the pond stop screaming for him, since he will be married?

Forbesy: Where'd you hear Pete was gettin' married? I saw in the on the official Czech team selection thread that Nedved was getting married, so either it's a strange coincidence, or you might've misread it.
Anyway, other than that he is gettin married, or if he's injured, there'd be no reason to leave him off the Czech roster.
And congrats to Prospal. Hopefully you have a great World Cup, Vinny.

I saw it over at the AllDucks.com fansite
but then again, could be injury or something
I think he chose to sit out, this isn't an intentional diss

Or maybe Sykora wasn't good enough to make the team after a mediocre season, Prospal at the very least will create for others. Sykora always shoots when he has the puck and it reflects his low shooting %.
Good for Prospal, better for Sykora maybe it'll motivate him to show up next year.

And since the Tournament isn't being held in Hawaii, it would be hard for Petr to travel all that distance.

If Petr Sykora didn't opt out of this tournament and was left off by Czech officials its a huge mistake.
Sykora is one of the best pure shooters the Czech's have, to leave him off the team in favor of slugs like Prospal, Rucinsky and Vlasak is a real shame.
Both Prospal and Rucinsky are notorious hot and cold players, look at Prospal this season who got about 2/3 of his pts in a hot 2 month stretch, Rucinsky is the same way, and if these guys are off their game they are useless.

Sykora runs hot and cold with the best of them.

I was going to say.
Pete would wind up with 10 goals or 0 for the tournament depending on how he felt.
