How good is Vitaly??? I mean what can we expect from him next season and in 5 years???

Will he reach his potential of being a 5th OV pick?

Thanks

The jury's still out on Vish. After seeming to regress for a couple of seasons, Vish had a good year last year and showed flashes of the Vishnevski of old. My guess is that he prove to be a solid, but not spectacular d-man. D-men tend to take a lot of time to mature. Right now, he doesn't appear to have warranted being the 5th pick overall.

Does he still has top for duty for next year???

And is a 20 mins/g, 25 pts season out of reach?

25 points is probably out of reach, but if the Ducks don't upgrade the defense corps he could get 20 minutes

After being benched a few times early in the season he got his act together. When Ozolinsh was injured and he was given more icetime on the blueline his confidence grew and he picked up his game. If he is able to keep it up a full season 20 min 25pts is possible. I personally think he has the potential to be even better than that, especially because he has shown that he is "coachable".

I think we have to remember that he's only 24, he made giant strides last season he is learning to balance when to go for the big hit and when to stay in position. He also showed the ability to move the puck in transition which would be an added bonus.

If he continues to improve he will become a very good player. I was one of those who wanted to see him gone after he was so bad the previous two years, thank god I'm not running this team.

I think Vitaly just needs some support to boost his confidence. I think he can be a well rounded player 5 yrs from now for sure if he can just get the coaching and conditioning down. With Ozo, Skoula, and Havelid around he probably wont get any PP time so I dont expect him to match his 6 goal performance unless he keeps being aggressive offensively. I think once he gets stronger, he can definitley be a good top 4 dman capable of 20+min, but for now, and with babcocks system, he will play around 18 min a game. 20 points would be a good goal for him.

I wish he could just gain a little more muscle, for a guy 200 pounds he sure seems thin and fragile. If he could learn to fight and gain 10-15 pounds, he might be a very dominante player....

He has incredible balance and strength. Once he learns to use them all the time, he will be the #1 guy. I believe he'll eventually prove to be a good #5 pick.
