Okafor would be great but he's to small to play center.Shaun Livinston might be the point guard we need.I would take okafor because he's the most proven though.Maybe trade for a big man.Go Raptors

According to some mock drafts, they have Livingston going as low as 6 or 7. I can't see that happening... especially not after reading a coach say that he has the potential to become one of the top 50 greatest NBA players ever. Overhype, possibly... but sitll.

If the Raptors are fortunate enough to land a top 3 selection, I go with:

1. Dwight Howard
2. Emeka Okafor
3. Martynas Andriuskevicius

I think that Okafor could play center in the East (he play[ed/s] center in college). Ben Wallace is the East's best center, but in the West he's a power forward, and he's the same height as Okafor (but Okafor is heavier.)

Apparentely they've signed a 6'11 Centre out of the Russian Super League by the name of Krystof Lavrinovic. He's 25/26, from Lithuania, and apparentely one of the best players in the league... the Russian Super League is supposed to be the best international basketball league outside North America.

I think they'll go with a point guard.

The top point guards in the draft are Shaun Livingston (High School), he's been touted as a top 3-5 pick all season, but there's a possibility he may drop to 8... slight one though. Then there's Ben Gordon of UConn, a scoring point guard, compared to Baron Davis. He's supposed to go in the top 10, he may fall to #8. Devin Harris is the other point guard that's supposed to go in the lottery (top 14), he's a complete player, played in the NCAA for the University of Wisconsin.

The other point guards projected to go in the first round are Sebastien Telfair (Stephon Marbury's cousin), he's a great playmaker, but he can't really shoot that well. Jameer Nelson, played really well in the NCAA tournament and Slovenian, Alexander Vujacic.

Sounds pretty good to me I guess... but dont we need a C badly??? we have nothing down the middle. Bosh is too skinny to play C for too long :dunno:

and imho a healthy a.williams is perfect as a passing pg or jalen rose... though i'd like to see if we could get something for him, something younger.

Martynas Andriuskevicius is a big time prospect, he's a 7'2, 240 pounds centre.

He was a projected top 5 pick earlier in the year and has now dropped a couple spots on most mock drafts because most people don't know whether he'll return to Europe and opt-out of the draft again like he did a couple months ago (rumour), or if he'll actually stick.

Apparentely (according to nbadraft.net), he's looking for a guarentee from a team in the top 10... rumour is that Phoenix has given him the guarentee that they will select him at #7.

Other possible C's are...

Pavel Podkolzine - 7'3", 300+ pounds... he came out of nowhere last year during the team workouts and was rumoured to go in the top 5, possibly even #4 to Toronto... he's had some injury problems and can't seem to stay 100% healthy. He broke his wrist/hand a couple months ago I believe, apparentely it's healed. NBADraft.net had him going in the top 3 earlier this season, his stock has dropped dramatically since word came out that he wasn't 7'5".

Robert Swift - Another 7'0" guy, played High School basketball this past season. Apparentely he's not much of an athlete.

Rafael Araujo - An absolute beast of a man. 6'11", 280-290 pounds. Draftcity.com has him going between 10 and 14 while NBADraft.net has him in the mid-20's. He destroyed David Harrison in one-on-one workout last week. Harrison's a 7'0", 260 pound NCAA Centre.

Peja Samardziski - 7'0", 260 pound European Centre. Good shooter. Apparent long-term project, expected to go in the first round.

Peter John Ramos - 7'4", 260 pound Centre out of South America. Not much known about him, NBADraft.net somehow dug out this guy over the last 6 months and have him going late in the first round, early second.

You're not going to get anything for Jalen Rose and his max contract.

Alvin and Rose are both bad points, we need a new one, obviously Steve Nash is the best one potentially available, but we won't get him so we should go for a center or someone big definetely.

Not by a long shot. The Italian and Greece basketball leagues are both far more competetive and have a lot more to offer. Russia would probably come in 3rd just ahead of France.

Peter Ramos? I wasn't impressed with his performance in Man On Fire. He didn't look 7'4" either.. more like a skinny point guard.

He make like 13 millin dollars, he has a max contract.

Charlotte has a 2/3 of the salary cap to play with for two years so they can't take him and field a decent team.
