Bolts vs Flames

Ok ladies and gentlemen, here is where you-all get to provide your take on the series. Let us analyze the match-ups and develop a strategy concerning which lines will match up against which lines. Obviously the Andrychuk line will probably go against the Iginla line, but how does calgary match-up with our other lines and how about their defensive pairings? Start talking, well actually typing, and give us all your thoughts. Thanks.

Start your engines!

The Flames beat the #1, #2, and #3 seeds in the West. They could be made up of twiddely wigs and it wouldn't matter, they will be one hell of a challenge and I think we are ready. What scares me is that alot of people are picking the Lightning, citeing skill and mismatches. Oddly enough, I think a smiliar assessment was made in the Canuck, Wings, and Sharks series. I will not underestimate them, this one will deffinatly be trudged out, and im predicting seven games. Now, lets get the Captain his Cup!

Hey Bolts. Nice job on the Flyers from a Sharks fan. I hope you waste the Flames (sour grapes are a very powerful emotion) and take it this year. I hope you dont mind me swiping your "Lightening Will Strike" avatar. ;)

As for my predictions in this series, I think it will be close, but the bolts will take it in 6. The big powerhouses on eachteam, namely Iginla/Gelina vs. StLouis/LeCavlier, are for the most part well matched, but I see much more chemistry and will to work between the bolts striking teams. As for goalies, Kippur seems somewhat better then Khabibulan to be, but I predict that this series will not be a goalie struggle, but rather an offencive one, and in that area the Bolts will dominate.

Good luck!

I honestly dont know who's going to win. I think 7 games will decided it.

Tampa Bay in 6. 5 if the PP stays as hot as it has been, which I don't think it will.

I don't think this series will be defensive, and I don't think Calgary has the ability to go up and down the ice w/ the Bolts. Not that Calgary doesn't have the speed, but they won't be able to finish w/ the consistency of the Lightning's top 6. There are too many weapons wearing Black & Blue. :teach:

the flames came out to play last night and we lacked the intensity and desire to win. We sowed some good stuff and it that is calgary's best game then we can rebound. that first goal was a lucky bounce squibbler- man but the breakawy really hurt us. it seemed as if there was a glass wall in front of the flames net all night, too many pucks just missed going in and too many missed shot opportunities. Give the flames credit they really pushed the puck. i think Torts brings in cibak thursday and only plays 6 d-men- we need four lines going hard. plus someone has to step up and match iginla- he is better than i thought- and marty needs to find open ice-somehow. G2 is a desparation time game- we can ill afford to go to calgary down 2, although the flames have not done well at home. last nights game was really exciting- would have been more so if we had won.

Hugs and kisses to PantherNation.

Sorry we can't all be cool like the '96 Panthers and get swept out like garbage in the finals.

Great game last night- the bolts played the way they are capable of and really took it to the flames. i really liked how Iginila was kept off the score sheet and frustrated all night. Vinnie was exceptional and if he contiues to play like that this series will be over in 5 or6 games. Great effort. I thought that the flames played real well also, they were really pushing the puck and fighting- well that too- along the boards for the puck. The effort was their for both teams.
