bmoak 05-21-2004, 08:11 PM And the selection of Chad Wiseman for the nineteenth position means that there can be ONLY ONE. Only one more prospect can be included in our Rangers' Top 20 prospects list. Who can it be now?

4) Hugh Jessiman
5) Thomas Pock
6) Petr Prucha
7) Maxim Kondratiev
8) Jarkko Immonen
9) Ivan Baranka
10) Garth Murray
11) Nigel Dawes
12) David Liffiton
13) Dominic Moore
14) Marcus Jonasen
15) Dwight Helminen
16) Bryce Lampman
17) Alexandre Giroux
18) Ken Roche
19) Chad Wiseman
Who is the Rangers' #20 Prospect?
Barnaby 05-21-2004, 08:19 PM Does Dom Moore seem too high to anyone else?
I'd probably take 4 others ahead of him... (Jonasen, Roche, Lampman, Helminen), I just can't get too excited over a guy who's not talented enough for the top two lines, or tough enough for the 3rd or 4th...
As for 20... I'll say Hollweg because I like his attitude... tempted to take Potter - but I don't know enough about him.
nyr5186 05-21-2004, 08:37 PM To me, this was a crapshoot between Kozak and Potter. But in the end, I'll take Kozak because of his fists. He might be the only legit heavyweight we have in our farm system, unless you want to count Richard Scott or Martin Grenier. Although he was considered a reach by some, the fact that he was chosen in the 3rd round of a very deep draft should earn him something. I saw him in that Rangers Inside/Out show this past fall, and he's built like a truck.

Roche and Giroux are also way too high. What did they do to deserve it?

Not a huge Giroux fan... Roche is a few spots too low. I could see him turning into a slick 2nd line center in 3-4 years.

I like Taylor, Greg Moore, Guenin, Walsh, and Crabb better than Roche

i agree with everything you just said. roche is going to be a good player for years to come. giroux to me looks like a younger derek armstrong. i hope i'm wrong though
DarthSather99 05-21-2004, 08:59 PM Walsh was Notre Dame's most improved player. Next year will be his BIG year. A Power Forward in the making.

Why does Crabb get almost no attention?
Son of Steinbrenner 05-21-2004, 09:10 PM Why does Crabb get almost no attention?
because he has done almost zero so far to deserve any attention.

scored more than Walsh and has decent size too. And supposed to be very fast skater.

Not true. He has been one of the top 5 players on his Colorado College team in his two years there. He plays against other top lines and is a very effective agitator. Has above average skills, check out his stats. Like i said before, very much like Barnaby except for the fighting. At least not yet.
Greg Moore is way better than Jake Taylor at this point.

have you ever seen him play?

No, have you?

from what i have seen he is smaller than his listed 6.0 which normally isn't a big deal but he plays small. he doesn't hit anything. he has hands of stone. i will give you the fact he has pretty good speed but thats about it.
hey as everybody knows i am no expert but i watch a ton of college hockey and i tivo most that has a rangers prospect in it. (being home 24-7 for 8 months you do that)
i love greg moores college game but i'm not sure if he is going to be a good pro. he is all heart though. Jake Taylor is going to be a good defenseman and could beat purinton for a spot right now.
I love mike walsh. i think next season he and roche could easily be in the top ten with roche being in the top 5

Crabb scored 15 goals in 39 games, I think that is pretty good especially on a team where top goal scorer had 16.

Walsh i like too, but i don't like some of his lazy habits, but that could've been an effect from being injured.
Greg Moore has a great shot, pro-style on the PP. Very solid defensively. His skill level might not be as high, but he wins, thats one thing thats hard to teach.
Bluenote13 05-21-2004, 09:37 PM No, have you?
I have. March 2003 in the NCAA's & two years before that on the US national team. Initially i didn't like his game so much, took too many penalties with his scrappy play. But i liked that he scrapped, was very little back then. Grew alot since first year in USHL, now he's fast and crafty and likes to throw hits.
Could be a Barnaby/Jason Blake type.
bmoak 05-24-2004, 05:59 AM I'm going to call this one at midnight tonight.
