There loss. Carney is a damn good Dman. Kevin Forbes 05-20-2004, 08:53 PM he was there on the first list that TSN put up... http://www.hfboards.com/showpost.php?p=1399507&postcount=32 McDonald19 05-20-2004, 09:18 PM not so, Carney is not on the list. There loss. Carney is a damn good Dman. TSN has his name in their article. McDonald19 05-20-2004, 09:21 PM Now TSN changed it to Ken Klee...good job TSN!!! Carney is better than Miller and Klee...what the heck?? S.S. Giggy 05-20-2004, 11:04 PM Carney is better than Miller and Klee...what the heck?? I know!!! What's up with them dissing us anyways? Boomhower 05-20-2004, 11:57 PM Now TSN changed it to Ken Klee...good job TSN!!! Carney is better than Miller and Klee...what the heck?? I'd be more outraged that they left Carney off in favor of Hatcher.... but as a Canadian I laugh and smile. :D Hockeyfan02 05-20-2004, 11:59 PM Chelios made it over Carney?! What a joke! :shakehead Randall Graves* 05-21-2004, 03:12 AM lol No Carney or Berard but they have Chelios,Klee and Miller?lol! cheesymc 05-21-2004, 04:11 AM i dont mind.... carney needs to rests his old arse up for next yr anyhow. Besides, his triplets will keep him busy.... Spankatola Jamnuts 05-21-2004, 04:26 AM Yeah. He and Rucchin should both find holes and crawl in them all summer. Herby 05-27-2004, 12:23 AM lol No Carney or Berard but they have Chelios,Klee and Miller?lol! Chelios and Miller both made the Olympic team and are still both premier shutdown defenseman in the NHL, they were both locks from the get go. No idea why Hatcher and Klee are there, but what can you do. Spankatola Jamnuts 05-27-2004, 12:45 AM Chelios is about 2 years removed from being premier anything. Rabid Ranger 05-27-2004, 01:32 AM Chelios and Miller both made the Olympic team and are still both premier shutdown defenseman in the NHL, they were both locks from the get go. No idea why Hatcher and Klee are there, but what can you do. I think the U.S. brass is counting on Hatcher being fully healed by August. He was a finalist for the Norris Trophy last year after all......... If he's close to that form he'll be a real asset. As for Klee, I think he's an underrated player in the NHL. He's a good defensively, but posseses some nice finesse skills. He'll fit in great with the team IMO. Rabid Ranger 05-27-2004, 01:34 AM Chelios is about 2 years removed from being premier anything. Oh, you mean when he came in 2nd in Norris voting? People need to get off of his case. He had his fair share of injuries this year and came back prematurely. He'll be fine in a freakin two week tournament where he doesn't have to be the main man. Spankatola Jamnuts 05-27-2004, 05:10 AM I don't care if he's fine or not. He's slow and his reputation is vastly outstripping his abilities at this point. Meaning he's overrated. Team USA is chock full of players I dislike and frankly I hope they lose. Only way I root for them is if the meet up with Canada at some point. Rabid Ranger 05-27-2004, 09:10 AM I don't care if he's fine or not. Just because you dislike some individual players you're going to throw some hate on your country's national team? :dunno: RoyIsALegend* 05-27-2004, 10:51 AM I assume you're an American which makes your attitude pretty curious. Just because you dislike some individual players you're going to throw some hate on your country's national team? :dunno: That guy's a clown; don't worry about him. Spankatola Jamnuts 05-27-2004, 11:26 AM Wow, impromptu love from one of the biggest jokes on the boards, I must be doing something right. Rabid Ranger - I like hockey but it isn't a source of national pride for me. I think it's curious that people feel such patriotism over a sports team, doesn't make any sense. The guys on that team don't represent me in any way, and they woudn't even if I liked them. As it is - Chelios, Guerin, Modano, Tkachuk, Roenick, Hull - all guys I have a major dislike for. Hank 05-27-2004, 01:39 PM As it is - Chelios, Guerin, Modano, Tkachuk, Roenick, Hull - all guys I have a major dislike for. Aren't these the same idiots that tore up the hotel in the Japan Olympics? I can't remember exactly... long time ago. Spankatola Jamnuts 05-27-2004, 03:23 PM More or less. mmbt 05-30-2004, 11:24 AM Exactly. When it comes to representing your country, unless you think winning is everything, character and class matters. Besides which, I think a lot of Team USA is comprised of guys getting in on name value, rather than recent productivity. Spankatola Jamnuts 05-30-2004, 04:56 PM And people are amazed that Leclair didn't make it. Randall Graves* 05-31-2004, 12:23 AM US team isn't very good, it's full of old guys who have one way or another hurt the game..Tkachuk,Guerin,Chelios come to mind. Randall Graves* 05-31-2004, 12:38 AM Chelios and Miller both made the Olympic team and are still both premier shutdown defenseman in the NHL, they were both locks from the get go. No idea why Hatcher and Klee are there, but what can you do. 40 game Miller and Quicksand Chelios? I'm glad Carney didn't get on to be honest, that means he won't get hurt and will let his ankle heal. Seriously the US team isn't very good, it's extremely slow. mmbt 05-31-2004, 01:25 AM Seriously the US team isn't very good, it's extremely slow. When they won the World Cup in '96 they had the perfect squad ... a couple veterans, a bunch of guys in their prime, and a youngster or two on the verge of breaking out. They had speed, grit, goaltending, and a steady defense. It was no surprise that they beat Canada. Since then, the core of that team has gotten very old, and there haven't been any youngsters who have blossomed into stars to replace those guys. And most importantly, there's no Richter or an equivalent in net ... he was on one of his godlike streaks in '96, but none of the current USA goalies have shown they're capable of reaching that level of play. | ||
