Prospects Organizational Ranking

It never made much sense to me why the website (hockeysfutures.com) would do their org ranking a month before the trade deadline when a lot of teams will sense prospects elsewhere. Having said that, where do you think the Rangers stand now after acquiring the following at the deadline:

Balej
Giroux
Grenier
Immonen
Kondratiev
Kozak
Liffiton
G. Moore
Umberger (or another second round)

I guess it would be better to do this post draft but well, I am bored at work so figured why not start another string for people to argue with.

Pre-draft I would probably have us up to 21-22 though I think Florida should be higher. Assuming a good draft (though with Sather you never know), I am guessing we could reach the mid teens possibly, especially if rumors of a trade for another top 6 are true.

Predraft I would place them at about 18 or 19.

Post-draft, who knows? If we do trade up and land a second top 6 pick I think we could move up to about 10th or so. All depends on the decisions made on draft day.

Very good question and it is an issue that has been addressed. I don't want to speak with exact certainty, but a new organizational ranking should be done within a few weeks of the entry draft.

It was stated by a few of the writers that with some teams with a high amount of draft picks (CHI, NYR) will have their stock rise in the Organizational Rankings.

As for when they were done, once they were outdated, having them done was a priority regardless of when the project was completed. In the future a more succinct calendar will be developed.

Id say about 15. Think of how many teams have

Jessiman - potential franchise power forward.
Lundquist - starter potential
Tyutin - top 2 defenceman (not sure if he is still elegible)
Balej - defenite 2nd line forward
Baranka - definite top 4 defenceman
Pock - top 4 potential again
Kondratiev - same as ^
Prucha - 2nd line potential
Dawes - ^ same

and then a lot of defensive specialists and grinders like Murray, Helminen, Hollweg etc.

Imo we have a lot of deph, if not a huge amount of "top end" talent.

After the darft (if all goes to plan) we should be easily top 10

Thanks a lot George. Great to hear the news. Also thanks for the hard work on the website.
