I feel so bad for you. You get great news about seeing the game, and now you have the listen to Tom Grace. Although he is hired by the pens to support the pens during broadcasts on the net, he overexagerates alot. Should be interesting though.

I guess I wouldn't say horrible broadcasts but they get excited about Yashin skating in open ice in his own zone and act like it was amazing save with Snow stops a shot from the blueline.

I'm just glad that Dolan finally realized its a good idea to air the games, though of course the first one takes place on a night where I am stuck at work until god knows when. :mad:

I think it will be interesting to hear Tom Grace live w/ the action tonight from a pens standpoint. Us, in pittsburgh, are pretty lucky to mike lange do the broadcast for the big pens.

the pace of this game is pretty good. labarbarra gave up a terrible goal. there was nobody infront of him and ryan whitney fired it by him from the top of the left circle.

Because he's hotter than hell(before tonight he had allowed 2 goals in 5 home games in the playoffs) and was the Baby Penguins goalie for almost the entire season.

I only got to see from a quarter through the third to the end. Not a lot of banging. Not a lot of speed. Labarbera showed why he may not be an NHL goaltender. The defense of the 'Pack didn't really stifle the Penguins from what I saw.

Well, you got to give credit where it is due. The baby Pens have a hell of a lot of talent on their team, maybe more than the real Penguins.

What really impressed me was the system of the Wolfpack. They had the lead, and never paniced or got lazy in the defensive zone. They played a tough, mean agressive style of hockey in both the offensive and defensive zone. I saw them throwing a lot of "cheap" hits (which certainly is a good thing come playoff time). And they were able to transition from defensive to offense in the blink of an eye.

I also came away very impressed with the coaching of McGill. He was loud behind the bench, constantly talking to his players after their shifts, and encouraging them with slaps on the backs. I couldn't of come away more impressed. He's definatley the man I want for the job in New York. If he can carry over that attittude and make it work in NYC, then I think we can a young, overachieving team next year.

I agree with everything Vito said.....The Pack and their players are not gonna look like world-beating all stars in this series...The reasons are because they are playing a team-oriented, hard-working close to the vest system that is a sight to these sore eyes...The other reason is that the Baby Pens are doing the exact same thing, with as much or maybe more talent....These are two disciplined and responsible teams...WOn't make for breath-taking hockey...But I am totally impressed with McGill and what he has doen with the Pack...No question in my mind he should be the choice for the Rangers---if they are true about rebuilding and creating a winning organization..

They never paniced but did seem to sit back on the lead and let the Pens bring the play to them. I would have liked to see them up the hitting with the one goal lead.

Good game, glad that MSG carried it, lets hope they do the rest of the games with the Hartford guys. AHL broadcasters are usually bad, over the top, biased - alot more than others. Reminded me of the Flyers guys, those guys are the worse, every call against the Flyers is always met with a debate from that crew.

Btw, I thought Labarbera looked good, but its apparent that he needs to smooth out the rough edges, they need to get him a goalie coach.

Impressive shot by Lampmann, that goalie Ciodo should've cheated to the side Lampmann took the shot from, seeing that there was nobody to pass to.

is how Hartford sat on the lead late in the third, ultimately leading to the tying goal. They let the play come to them and the 'Pack got a little lucky for a period when the refs let everything go (the Pens joined in the fray after a while, but the 'Pack were holding on for dear life ). Like I said, I missed the game up until about 5 or 6 minutes into the third.
