nyrfuture 05-19-2004, 03:44 PM Prucha Giroux Jessiman
Wiseman Cuthbert Cullen
Dawes Kozak Hereema
Stals Ulmer Larose
Baranka Liffiton
Kinch Grenier
Nycholat Weller
Blackburn
Lundqvist
Osaer
To Rangers : Moore, Ortmeyer, Tyutin, Lampman, Murray, Balej LaBarbera (back-up while Lundqvist and Blackburn get in form)
Won't exactly be it, but that would be cool wouldn't it.

Prucha73 05-19-2004, 03:53 PM I don't think Dawes and Kozak is eligible for AHL yet.
Hopefully Prucha will be with the Rangers. I am pretty sure Hollweg will be there. I hope Jonasen will be there. Maybe few more European players that we draft this year.
BobMarleyNYR 05-19-2004, 04:31 PM I really think Dawes should be a future 1st liner... I'm not wild about Grenier... I actually want him to be traded. Best for both parties.
Barnaby 05-19-2004, 04:54 PM As for Dawes being a future 1st liner - I'd be happy if he was a good 2nd liner. A first line scorer is asking a lot of the little man.
Yea, Dawes isn't in the AHL next season, and Jessiman hasn't committed to it yet.
I don't think Baranka is eligible for the Pack either. (Not 100 percent, but pretty sure.)

Baranka is eligible because he was in Europe when drafted. Sather must make Jessiman go to Hartford next year.

I think I would rather let Hugh go back to college again unless he has a really good camp and outplays a lot of guys. From what I read Hugh didn't really make that much progress this season atleast offensively.

if he is going back to school then he won't be in camp

The thing with Hugh is that he was double and triple teamed because of a lack of a decent supporting cast. If Hugh was in a better program his numbers would have been much higher. I think it may be beneficial if Hugh stayed in Dartmouth or if he went to Hartford, both have their benefits. I think in Dartmouth he'd learn much better defencive skills and how to work the double teams and how to find the open man with little space to work with. But in Hartford his condition would be monitored and his offence would easily go up. So in the end both would be fine, the key is not to rush him into the NHL unless he absolutely destroys all competition.
As for the farm: I'd like to see Lampman and Nycolat play another year in hartford or at least start there, just because of the fact they looked just too young and not ready when they were called up. I also feel Baranka and Liffiton would be better suited in Hartford, while guys like Pock and Kondratiev start with NYR. As for Prucha, i highly doubt he'd come over unless he's given a spot on the rangers, but I have heard mention that the Rangers are trying to convince Immonen to come over and at least try the AHL. I also think it would be such a big mistake to play Blackburn AND Lundqvist in Hartford, both need as many games as possible and wouldn't be fair to have them split the duties.

Jessiman needs to take the next step and play in AHL and get away from all the double and triple teaming. I am not sure why you say that staying in college is better for his defensive game?
Blackburn and Lundqvist unless one of them shines in the training camp, should at least start both in Hartford and then call up whoever shows to be more ready.
rnyquist 05-19-2004, 09:21 PM The reason Jessimen learns more about his defencive play in college is because he's the only legit star, he'll be pressured under all situations and will learn so much about his play away from the puck and how to work his men. I should have said his play without the puck instead of Defencive

maybe, but I still think there are a lot more reasons he should play in Hartford--tougher competition, more games, better team, hopefully better coaching and early chemistry with other Ranger prospects. Plus Rangers' management can closely monitor his progress and give him helpful advice, and if he performs well he can be awarded with a few games with the big club.
DarthSather99 05-19-2004, 09:28 PM Jessiman should go back to Dartmouth and dominate there before going to the AHL. This is no slap against Jessiman, I really like the kid but first things first ....

I'm not quite sure what Kinch or Ulmer have done to deserve continued ice time in the organization. Neither of them seem to be NHL material--not even "bubble" players. There are a lot of prospects who are younger than them who probably would benefit a great deal more from the ice time at the AHL level and could actually develop into NHL players.
I also wonder if Lampman and Moore are likely to spend a lot of time in the NHL next season. Lampman didn't impress me at all with his play in the NHL (and it seems that the coaching staff wasn't impressed either) and while Moore didn't seem out of place for those few games at the beginning of the season, I wonder if management has much faith in him since he was never called up again during the season.
And as for giving LaBarbera the backup job in New York? I really don't see that happening. He's shown nothing at the NHL level to suggest that he can survive at that level for any length of time. He's played well this season, but it's been as the go-to goalie at Hartford--I question whether he would be able to even be as sharp at the AHL level if he's not playing the vast majority of games. Whomever is in net next season (assuming that TLB is really rebuilding) is going to be backing up a very inexperienced team, one that will make a lot of mistakes and get beaten frequently. I'd rather have a backup who can both survive the barrage of shots and even steal a few games; someone who can provide a little stability and a great deal of humor (too bad Glen Healy's retired!).
All and all Hartford should have a lot of interesting players next year and should be a lot of fun to watch.

He won't be able to dominate , because he gets major focus from other teams, because Dartmouth lacks depth.

If McGill is the next coach then Labarbera at least will get a back up job I think, unless he is traded of course

McGill in reality has no control over his roster, he's given players and has to work from there, nothing more. I'm sure if Labarbera is kept, he'll either be loaned or Mcgill will be told to play Lundqvist or Blackburn primarily
