Nice to see Canada will get St. Louis and Richards for the World Cup. I however was sad to see Vinny not there. There was a lot of talk about Vinny being an easy pick, but a terrible first half of the 03-04 season seems to have kept him off the team. I wasn't really expecting him to make it because it so easy, no surprises on the team. All you have to do is listen to Gretzky and he will praise a player to no end and barely mention another. Thornton, Marleau, Gagne, Lemiuex, Doan, Yzerman, Sakic, Smyth, Maltby, Heatley, Draper, Pronger, Regher, Brewer, Jovo, Brodeur, Luongo, and Belfour have all recieved great comments from Gretzky in the form of tv interviews or newspaper articles, so its not at all a surprise to see these guys on the team, I just wish Vinny was more liked by Grets!

I haven't really looked at the roster yet, but St. Louis I figured was a shoe-in and one of either Richards or Lecavalier, depending on what role they want him to play. I agree that Vinny's crappy first half is probably what kept him out, Richards' game is much more consistent at this point in their careers. It's too bad, I would have liked to see him make it, I'm sure he's disappointed. :(

Hopefully the omission will motivate Vinny. After an improved performance in Game 3, I can see #4 taking his game to another level today. :thumbu:

I would have Vinny and Primeau in that lineup over Lemieux and Yzerman.

Yeah seriously, get some young blood out there. What do they have to lose? Canada already got their Olympic gold medal finally with the old guys. If they want to repeat they need to get the younger talent some more international action than just WC's for the non-playoff guys.

Not that I don't think Vinnie or Keith should be there...but in Canada one gold medal will never do. We have a deep enough talent pool to send our best to every International tourney and have a chance to win. The old "don't rebuild...reload "theory comes to mind. Anyways, unfortunate it had to be announced before the conclusion of the playoffs but there are gonna be some tired players by the end of the Summer anyways. I have a hard time seeing Preems even being able to walk in August, let alone skate. Good luck in game 6 Tampa, but may we see a game 7. Crossing fingers. :help:

Interesting thread about Brad: http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=78873

Are we the only ones capable of appreciating Brad AND Vincent without acting like it's a head-to-head matchup every time? :dunno:
