Note to the Florida fans: Chanting "Slater sucks" won't help, in fact it only fires him up more. Secondly, Newman (HELLOOOO NEWMAN) wasn't injured by a Steelhead, but by his own actions.

not at the game because my Dad went to Monday's game with me and didn't want to wait in line for tix. the next morning I started my new job.

3-1, Idaho is 8-1-0 after leading after 2 periods. I think Florida is outshooting, but Idaho has had a lot more breakaways. Should be a good third period.

Florida shouldn't worry much, they're a very skilled team and Zepp is a solid goalie. Now with one game down they'll get into the series. I have a feeling things will switch in game 2 and Florida will win, but at the very least, as I predicted, this series will be a good one!

I want to say I'm lost for words, but that's never the case.
first, the refs at TECO are ALWAYS boo'd when they take to the ice but more out of habit than reason.
but what I've seen tonight in the first period warrents boos if not a review board or whatever officiators sp? have to go through.

that said, I've also noticed that the Blades are being out-played no question.

I'm wondering if Fleming lets his anger show too much rather than talking to the players...sure we're all ill about the calls but when the coach goes nuts.....
screaming at the ref for several minutes he loses a chance to process what needs to happen next. but that does not leave Fleming sated I suppose.

Golfmade, why are you going to Japan? Have fun! I was there briefly about 10 years ago. It was...strange.

My mom is in Rotary, will be the president of one of the local chapters next year. Whenever you become president you get paid airfare to wherever Rotary is having their international conferences are, last year was Sydney, this year Osaka. As such she asked if I wanted to go (and of course I said no ;) )

I don't speak a lick of Japanese (just have a phrase book with me) and I'm not a big fan of sushi and seafood, but I'm not expecting culture shock.

Well some of the reasons i'm not expecting culture shock is 1) I've been overseas before, so this isn't my first long travel 2) My gf is from Taiwan and although i've never been there or China, I've learned a ton about the culture and also have studied Chinese for 10 months; so it's not like i'm totally foreign to asian culture 3) I'm wide open to other cultures and such, that's one reason why I didn't like Lost in Translation, I didn't watch the whole film, and maybe I will eventually, but it just seemed like Murray's character was not happy to be in Japan, that's not me. I'm psyched, have a lot I want to see and photograph. And yeah, I figure that the younger people will be able to speak at least some, so i'm not too worried.

Is Kobe worth seeing? I know it's only like half hour to an hour to get there from Osaka, I will go to Nara for a day, but not sure if I want to go to Kyoto or Kobe if I go to another town for a day.

Japan will fool you because it looks like America in a lot of ways. But then nothing is what you expect. I had traveled other places before I went there too. And after as well, and even lived with a Japanese roommate. And still that's my take on it. I'll be interested to hear what you think when you get back.

Caught the replay on the NHL Network. Decent game, though a bit disorganized.

It was funny watching Thompson flip off the crowd as he skated off the ice (game misconduct). Classy.

For that moment alone, I'm glad I taped it.

I do not think the series would have ended so soon if Larose and Surma had been able to play, but such is life.
I am thrilled that the Blades made it to the finals, and I am pleased that I was able to see so many games this season.
