EUROPEAN SKATERS
34 Peter Regin
41 Jannik Hansen
63 Jannik Karvinen
123 Michael Eskesen
150 Martin Nielsen
154 Thomas Lilholt
Would be great if at least 3 of these would get drafted. Danish hockey is on the rise :) I would have liked to see Regin Sweden next season, but I guess he is staying in Denmark .. seeing as he is under contract. (but Percy, is Percy)
This is definitely worthy of a:
Big rises for Regin and Hansen (almost 60 spots each), Karvinen has risen quite a bit too, and Martin Nielsen makes it on there to make it 6 danes in total, compared to the mid-term.
This acknowledgement of danish hockey and the talent of those individuals has definitely made me more confident that at least the top two will be taken. Possibly Karvinen, too. Eskesen I like (probably more than Karvinen), but he hasn't been given much playing time and as such not many teams will have seen him play properly - and as such, he most likely won't be taken.
Does anyone remember where Frans Nielsen ranked on the finals 2 years ago? I'm almost positive it was 43 - or at least close to that.

Oh and, Re: Regin - his contract (for 3 years, I think) is only for the danish league, he has the option to get out of it and sign with a swedish (or North-American, the CHL has been mentioned) team if he wants to. There have been persistent rumours concerning MIF especially - we'll have to wait and see.

What can be said of each of these guys and where they will go in the draft?

mole,
50 among forwards according to this one, which I think is correct

That looks dodgy. Europeans and North Americans mixed, Forwards and Defensemen separated. I don't trust that ;)
Also, it has Janos Vas at 21. (He was ranked lower than Nielsen, about 70 or so).
Boychuk, Ryan Whitney listed as forwards.

haha, well then it is probably incorrect. I just took a quick look at the Swedish players and they seemed correct. I'll try to double check though, think I have the Swedish ranking for that year somewhere on the hard drive :)
EDIT:
nope, only had the preliminary ranking, where Nielsen wasn't listed at all.

Frans Nielsen was ranked 48th among Europeans by CSS.

Thanks!
Good news for Regin & Hansen. But then again, '99 and Morten Green (who was also ranked in the 40's I think - and never drafted) serves as an example for how this doesn't always mean too much..
