I was at Spectorshockey.net yesterday and they already have the FA list out. I was wondering if Group III agents are also considered UFA's. Do they count as UFA's?

Do they count as UFA's? Kevin Forbes 05-02-2004, 10:05 PM If I recall correctly, Group IIIs are UFAs that the team they are signed away from get compensation for. Meanwhile, Group IIs are RFAs S.S. Giggy 05-03-2004, 06:46 PM What do you mean by "signed away"? Kevin Forbes 05-03-2004, 07:38 PM ok...like Dan Bylsma could be signed away from Anaheim to another team, because he's a group III. Depending on how much cash he gets in his new deal, Anaheim will get som sort of compensation in the form of a compensatory pick S.S. Giggy 05-04-2004, 07:32 PM So, in other words, if he wants to go, Anaheim gets something in return even if he's a UFA or am I not getting this. Hockeyfan02 05-04-2004, 09:43 PM So, in other words, if he wants to go, Anaheim gets something in return even if he's a UFA or am I not getting this. Ducks would get a pick. Depends on the player, some teams have gotten 2nd or 3rd round picks as compensation. Most likely it would be a mid-late round pick. Youre getting this. :) S.S. Giggy 05-05-2004, 12:33 AM Darn! There goes my dream of getting Keith Primeau , Mark Recchi, and Mike Ricci. cheesymc 05-05-2004, 12:54 AM I looked at the 2004 list and I was wondering if it would be possible for the ducks to sign a few: I dont think any of the core detroit players will leave on their own will like Federov. Both of these guys are probably too old and most likely will stay with Toronto Bryan Marchment, (III) Gary Roberts, (III) Scott Mellanby, (III) - too old and slow, but maybe he can help Chistov like Stumpy Vladimir Malakhov, (III)* Grant Marshall, (III) - the guy who I wanted on the ducks in before their miracle run, but instead he killed that run Turner Stevenson, (III) - possible replacement for Leclerc Richard Matvichuk, (III) Chris Therien, (III Chris Simon, (III) - I think the ducks need an insane guy Sean O'Donnell, (III) - Not as tough as he used to be, but better than Havelid Glen Murray, (III) - too much success in Boston to leave Dan McGillis, (III) - big dman, hasnt been doing well in Boston Mike Knuble, (III) - soft but plays in front of the net Jassen Cullimore, (III) - isnt as nasty as he could be with his size, but he can help Carney in the defensive side McDonald19 05-05-2004, 01:31 AM I looked at the 2004 list and I was wondering if it would be possible for the ducks to sign a few: I dont think any of the core detroit players will leave on their own will like Federov. God gets an "A" next year lux_interior 05-06-2004, 02:40 AM I looked at the 2004 list and I was wondering if it would be possible for the ducks to sign a few: I dont think any of the core detroit players will leave on their own will like Federov. Gary Roberts...doubtful he'd sign with the Ducks. Could be a good influence on the young guys, but a longshot to sign. Mellanby...eh...could be a good fit. I like his game. Yeah, that works for me. Malakhov...This one is the best DMan of those listed. Grant Marshall....No big deal. Turner Stevenson....no thanks. He couldn't come close to replacing Leclerc. And why does everyone want to replace Leclerc all of a sudden. I mean, he quit on the team, but wouldn't you? Matvichuk...could be good, could be a bust. Chris Therien...haven't really noticed him enough to comment, but that could be a positive. Chris Simon...insane guy...heh heh...don't know that insanity would help the situation, but he's a good player. Sean O'Donnell....I've actually always liked his play. Could be a good fit. Glen Murray...would be a good signing. Possible, but not likely. Dan McGillis....undecided. Mike Knuble....boy there's a lot of Bruins on this list. Jassen Cullimore....okay, I'm pretty sure I've heard of him. S.S. Giggy 05-09-2004, 12:31 AM Turner Stevenson....no thanks. He couldn't come close to replacing Leclerc. And why does everyone want to replace Leclerc all of a sudden. I mean, he quit on the team, but wouldn't you? Dude! I tell you what, I'd love to have one of those guys hanging around in my locker room if I was the coach. I'd love to have a leadership guy, prideful type. He'd be a great addition. cheesymc 05-10-2004, 11:59 AM Well as we all saw, the ducks lost because of lack of size up front, guys like Leclerc and Robbie were out of alot of the games, and the ducks didnt even call up guys like Severson until the 2nd half after it was already too late. You dont want to depend on players like Leclerc, he could be out for a few seasons like Ruch the 2 yrs before. Thats why I think the ducks should definitely get some size and character upfront and at least one on the blueline. | ||
