2002 Draft signing deadline

One month left to sign CHL players taken in the 2002 draft. The last day to sign these players is June 1, 2004. If they are unsigned by then they can re-enter the draft or I believe sign with any team they want. (example. Kurt Sauer drafted 2000 by Colorado signed with Anaheim June 6, 2002)

2nd round-Tim Brent C Toronto St. Michaels (OHL)
3rd round-Brian Lee D Erie (OHL)
6th round-Luke Fritshaw D Prince Albert (WHL)
9th round-Francois Caron D Moncton (QMJHL)

Last year Pierre Parenteau was signed on May 22 and Igor Pohanka and Joel Stepp were signed on June 1st.

Is Bryan Murray going to wait until the last minute this year. Tim Brent is the guy we have to sign but Id also like to see Lee and Caron signed. Fritshaw we can pass on. Also I believe Chris Petrow who we drafted with our other 9th round pick is no longer our property, nor would he be worth signing if he was.

Thoughts on who we should sign? Any information you have heard about any of these guys?

I agree: signing Tim Brent is a must. I really don't know enough about the three d-men to comment.

The other MUST SIGN, though, is Ryan Getzlaf. Sure, BM still has another year to sign him, but he doesn't play in the Ducks organization until he signs. Since he almost made the team last year---and had a great year in juniors this year---I'd say he's got a great chance to make the team in 2004-2005 . . . assuming, of course, that there is a 2004-2005 season.

Get Perry,Brent and Getzlaf signed ASAP

two weeks left...I guess Murray is waiting until the last minute again...
