Congrats, great work in getting the win and taking out my beloved Habs.
And even though the Habs were swept I'm sure you Bolts fans will agree that is was closer then the 4-0 games really says.

I think this is the beginning of a great rivalary as I see the Bolts, Habs and Sens the teams of the future in the East.

Thanks unbiased. I picked the bolts in 5, but expected all the games to be close. I just really thought the lightning would be a bit more opportunistic. It was a fun series. I agree that the Habs and Bolts will both get better in the coming years. Lets hope there is a season to play next year. :thumbu:

The best team won hands down.

Congratulations to your team, they deserved to win the series. Well, maybe not game #3, but they deserved the series, easily.

I'll be pulling for your team in the east. I always liked them quite a bit and they have a lot of Québecois so it's an easy choice for me.

Let's go Lightning!

Great play by T.B, very few mistakes, they really deserve to win this series. The last two games were very close and very exciting.

Count me as a Habs fan how will be cheering for the Bolts to win the East despite you guys beating us. Congrats for a very impressive showing in this series. You Tampa fans should concider yourselfs lucky to cheer for such an exciting team, I know I would in your situation.

Perhaps with both teams being young and on the rise, this could be the first of many exciting playoff series to come in the future.

Bravo Tampa Bay!! :handclap:

Come back anytime, now we can all cheer our guys in Hamilton. :)

Nice show of class by Habs fans.

If I've come awaywith anything from the internet boards during this series, it's that Hab fans may be the most passionate fans out there. Well done.

Thanks for beating Boston and congrats on a Final 8 finish.

Way to go Tampa Bay! Congratulations from this life-long Habs fan and long time Martin St-Louis and Cory Stillman fan (from their AHL days playing here at home), your team certainly deserve the conference final berth.

I never got to see much of Tampa this year, but what blew me away was the speed! I knew the Bolts were a solid team from the net out, but man those boys are fast!!!

Good luck the rest of the way, and enjoy a well-deserved win over the Habs and a trip to the final four.

Go Bolts! :yo:

Thanks Habs fans. You'll be back next season (whenever that is), I look forward to it. We were on the other end of this against the Devils last year so don't worry.

Thanks to all the Habs fans for their compliments and I agree that the future belongs to us in the East- meaning the Habs, Sens and the Bolts. We are all young and the future holds some great games for us all. I am very impressed by the intelligence and passion of the Habs fans and your ability to, not only appreciate but praise good hockey by another team. The habs played inspired hockey and will be much better as your core players get older. Congrats for playing such great hockey.

I had the habs picked to win, didn't think your boys had it, boy was I wrong. I haven't watched this team play enough to realize they are a powerhouse.

Lecavilier has really finally come out, and is one of the very few best in the game, no question.

Bulin doesn't hurt the cause either

Nice to see some Habs fans showing good sportsmanship here. Kudos.
Many on the Mtl board were intolerable ("TB was lucky! The refs handed it to them! Let's brawl- we'll win that!") and didn't make me want to support the Habs (I had been neutral on this series)...

TB to the end!

Congratulations to the Lightning for a great series. I wish it would've turned out differently but hey, you have a great system, an awesome goalie and with the scoring talent you have, you really make teams pay for any mistakes, turnovers, rebounds, bad coverage, you name it.

You're a dangerous team playing entertaining hockey, good luck in the next round!

Congrats Guys!

You have a great team. You play a great system. I believe you can really go far, who knows, maybe even all the way. We were just outclassed plain and simple. Best of Luck!

Don't forget Atlanta and Florida, they're gonna be tough.

Congrats to Tampa. So that's what it's like to have a reliable defense that doesn't cough it up, eh?

Hopefully this is just the first matchup of many in the future because most of the games were very close and entertaining.

We should have won game 3, but hell, over the course of the series, we got beat by the better team. No shame in that. And man, Tampa is one helluva team. Rest up gents, and take it to those Flyers!

Congrats, to the Tampa Bay Lightning and their long suffering fan(s). In just two years you guys went from the outhouse to the penthouse. As a Hab and hockey fan Its nice to see teams like the Panthers, Mighty Ducks, Hurricanes, and Lightning advance far in the playoffs. It seems like a common theme in the NHL nowadays for a team to rise from relative obscurity and prove to the world they have a world class hockey team. With Khabibulin living up to his nickname, St.Louis making opposing defenders cringe, and Lecavilier's clutch tap in goals, you guys are gonna be hard to beat. Believe this guys, if you face the Leafs in the conference finals, I speak for all Habs fans in Toronto (there's a lot of us) when I say please beat these guys. I'd much rather see Tampa Bay in the finals because then it will just be about the hockey. No annoying fanfare, just two teams nobody cares about duking it out for the silver mug. Go Bolts!!!

Great series.

First, congrats to the Habs on an amazing season. This is a team nobody expected to even sniff the playoffs, let alone secure a spot, win a series and advance to the second round for a solid showing against the top seed in the conference. You Montreal fans should be proud. You have a fairly young team with great potential and they just got some invaluable experience under their belts. One can draw a certain parallel between this series and the Bolts-Devils series of last year, with Tampa's role reversed. The Lightning had surprised everyone with their post-season appearance and their first-round win. And against the Devils, they earned respect in a 4-1 series loss that was MUCH closer than it looked on paper, with the Bolts thoroughly outplaying NJ in a couple of games and somehow still losing. Still, it was nice to be able to say we held our own against the eventual Cup champions (I hope the Habs can say the same in a few weeks) and I have no doubt that experience has contributed to Tampa's strong playoff run this year. In any case, the Canadiens certainly deserved a better fate than 4-0. This series was far from a rout.

Second, with only two exceptions (who I'll refrain from naming, since that would likely violate board rules, but I'm sure they know who they are and the rest of you probably do, too), it was a real pleasure talking hockey with the Habs fans during this series. You have a terrific bunch, full of insight and passion. You're welcome here any time.

Third ... go Bolts!

Congratulations to the Lightning and all their fans, expecially the ones who hang out here. The best team won, and with the extra rest the habs have given your team, you should be in good shape come the conference finals.

With the young team you guys have in Tampa, and the up and coming young team we have in Montreal, I have a feeling we will be clashing alot more in the near future as powerhouses of the East.

Ocne again congratulations and best wishes from here on in!!!!

Congratulations to the Lightning and all their fans, particularly the long suffering ones who have had to wait a few years to see this day. Trusting in a young team can really be frustrating sometimes...some games you see amazing talent...some games you're wondering how in the world certain plays could have happened. It makes it all the sweeter when you can be here in the glory days. It's great to see the development of Lecavalier in particular, who we in Canada have of course been supporting and watching for some time. Best of luck the rest of the way!

Congrats, Tampa!

Playing Tampa was a bit hard for me, as a Habs' fan, because I wanted Tampa to go far (exciting hockey team: too hard *not* to like). Having a team that plays an offensive style win the Cup would be great for the NHL, and hopefully produce more offensive minded teams.

Anyway, Tampa ended up with the sweep. It's hard, because this series was pretty close, after game one ... But, it's done now, and the best team won. But, I think we can all agree that this series was closer than what the sweep may suggest.

Now, I'll go back to rooting for Tampa! But not for long; I look forward to more Habs/Bolts matchups in the playoffs for many years to come. ;)

Congratulations to the Lightning for an amazing regular season and an amazing playoffs so far. You guys got a great team and one that I am rooting for in the east and to go all the way now. You guys are a great young team. We have a great young team. Both teams play exciting hockey.

Congrats on winning round 1. I'd love to see us do it again in the future (not for revenge, but because i think with more experience Montreal and Tampa can have a truly great series, one that people will talk about for a long time).
