Youreallygotme 04-26-2004, 11:21 PM Huge game for not just rockets and tips fans, but Medicine Hat fans too. They dont want to have to put up with the pressure of winning the last series, with a kelowna win they are automatically in the MC.
Also Hats off the everett. Going this far is unheard of for an expansion team.
Go Rockets GO  :gman: :gman:
Davef 04-27-2004, 08:43 AM We are going to have to come back to this... one game at a time!
MikeS 04-27-2004, 10:24 AM The pressure is now on the Rockets. The Tips really have nothing to lose, having far exceeded expectations.
I have to say we have been pretty well outplayed, but here we are at 3-3!
This has been by far the toughest opponent the Tips have (or will) face.
Avery4Byng 04-27-2004, 12:43 PM Yep she is do or die tonight. Obviously any idiot will and can point out that the Tips have the momentum, but it's game 7 and anything is possibly, win or lose either way it has been a great series and the Tips are a good team who have done pretty damn well for themselves.
Naschise 04-27-2004, 01:18 PM The Medicine Hat Tigers are sure hoping the Kelowna Rockets win tonight. That would give them an automatic bid to the Memorial Cup and the WHL final wouldn't mean much. I am sure the Rockets want to win tonight against Everett to show they belong, but I don't think it will crush them if they lose. Kelowna is good enough to win the Memorial Cup regardless if they beat Everett in Game 7. War, new WHL franchise in Victoria, B.C.
King Ryan 04-27-2004, 05:50 PM God, I hope the Rockets win. It would be really disappointing for them to go out in 7 after having a 3-1 series lead.

True. But this Tips team is like something out of a fairy tale - one of those rare sports underdog stories that we usually only see in the movies. For us Everett fans it would be equally exciting for us to see our team win game 7 after coming back from a 3 - 1 deficit.
But if indeed there is to be no magical storybook ending for the Tips tonight, if the season ends after tonights game, it's still been one hellava ride!
Rooselk 04-27-2004, 08:17 PM One more point about this storybook thing: Thinking of this team I am somewhat reminded of the plot if the 1984 movie,The Natural Hate to say it Rocket fans but it's been thundering and lighting in the Everett area all day today. An omen perhaps that Wunderboy is about to perform it's magic again?
Lard_Lad 04-27-2004, 10:57 PM 2-1 Everett in OT (again). Congratulations to the Tips, and maybe the Rockets will get another shot at them in the Memorial Cup.
MikeS 04-27-2004, 10:58 PM YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! Youreallygotme 04-27-2004, 10:59 PM damn you silvertips. We'll see you in the memorial cup. Our Colour commentator roger snow is choking up right now
Rooselk 04-27-2004, 11:00 PM YES!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!! YEAH!!!
Must really be something to this Cinderella Wunderboy stuff!
King Ryan 04-27-2004, 11:43 PM Dammit.
Three straight OT losses and it's over. :(
top_gun36 04-27-2004, 11:46 PM NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
:shakehead :shakehead :shakehead
I guess the only good thing out of all this is that the Rockets will be well rested for the Memorial Cup
GO ROCKETS
King Ryan 04-27-2004, 11:46 PM Actually, I would argue that the "cinderella" thing happens too often.
I can't believe how many times teams have come from a 3-1 deficit in the WHL and NHL, it's just unbelievable.
It's at the point now, where once a team fights back from 3-1 to force game 7, I expect them to win game 7. As a rockets fan I fully expected the Tips to win tonight, for that very reason.
Greg7 04-27-2004, 11:47 PM Wow. Beating Kelowna in a 7 game series is quite a feat.
I feel better about the Giants being beat by an "expansion" team now.
Good luck against the Tigers. Quite a switch from Kelowna - best defensive team in the WHL (or maybe second best?) to the best offensive team in the WHL.

I think you've got to say Kelowna is the best defensive team, based on goals against, shots against, chances against. I think the Tips just got some lucky breaks, and NEVER stopped working hard. Full credit to Everett, but we were outplayed in 6 of 7 games.
I think the Tips (provided they continue to work and play their game) will have a very good chance against an offence minded team. The tips like to counter attack and scored more than a few goals in the Vancouver series on plays "against the grain" or against the flow of play. They are pateint and will be conten to wait for the odd-man rushes that will come.
Avery4Byng 04-28-2004, 12:19 AM
Good luck Tips!
Buannan 04-28-2004, 06:40 AM congratulations!!!
:D
rekrul 04-28-2004, 10:38 AM I have been looking at this series for a couple of reasons, one to track Sharks prospect Josh Gorges and seeing how Kevin Constantine is working his magic once again.
wow nice job Everett, I read a few articles sounds like the city built a great facility and now its already paying dividens, THIS is probably the only way to build interest in hockey, by just having the sport sell its self. The constantine wonderbunch in '94 was an incredible hard working team, looks like he has done it again. Hopefully the kids in town see the game and ask their parents for skates and want to play themselves.
GOOD LUCK on the next round Silvertips!
