Wouldn't want to be a Knights fan right now. Heartbreaker.
Props to the Storm, I was really impressed with their classiness during the Attack series.

But, contrary to popular opinion they haven't won it yet, they play the Dogs in the final, should be a good one.

It was also nice to see St. Pierre on the ice for as many goals as he was in the third period.

I agree MacDonald was terrible tonight and I'm not an on again off again MacDonald fan.... I've wanted Coleman to be the guy since the beginning of the season. And I really wanted to see him branded the #1 guy heading into the playoff.... very disappointing when Mac was given the nod in game 4 vs. Windsor. (after Coleman had won the first three games)

Hopefully Mark H. realizes Coleman should be the #1 and is able to trade MacDonald off for a decent draft choice.... K.J. Robinson should be an adequate backup and this way Gerald won't be looking over his shoulder.

As for the game/series kudos to the Storm they overcame adversity and showed a great will to win. Despite the score game 7 was quite the hockey game and the level of play was definitely elevated tonight by both sides, in comparison to the choppy slow play that was seen in the first six games.

Good luck to Guelph, It would be nice to see them uphold the legacy of how great the Western conference (especially the midwest) was this year by winning the whole show.... But I know I'm going to be rooting for Quincey, Bain and the Ice Dogs to take them down. ;)

It was a great game to watch! Seesaw goals for the first two periods (1-1 at the end of the first, and I think it was 2-2 at the end of the second). Guelph went ahead 3-2 in the third, London tied it up a minute or so later. Perry took a blatant penalty on Klein (boarding?) for 4 minutes; Guelph scores on the powerplay. Ryan scores a beauty a few minutes later, and St. Pierre puts one in the empty net to finish it off.

A few comments.......

Schremp played maybe 4 shifts in the 3rd period - didn't see any ice time in the first two periods. From what I've heard, he pissed Mr. Hunter off, so he sat. I don't know how true that is, but how do you sit a player that talented in game 7?

Logan, Dylan and Steady, however, saw plenty of ice time. Nice going Coach of the Year. :shakehead

Wideman played an amazing game. He is going to be a treat to watch in the NHL.

All the talk about Janssen taking stupid penalties at inopportune times didn't prove to be true.... Perry stepped up on that one.

Guelph/Mississauga is going to be a great series!

Woo Hoo - I can cheer for the OHL team in the Memorial Cup! :handclap:

The Knights had a great season and this team was very fun to watch. It's disappointing the Knights lost, but they gave their fans (me included) entertainment value all year.

Their is a next year for London, if Guelph lost on the other hand....

I was sitting in the stands shaking my head and thinking the exact same thing. Even if you were p**sed at him for something, in a game #7 sitting the 1st period would suffice. But of course useless Dylan played non-stop. What is the excuse for Robbie not playing Mr. Hunter? His poor attitude? Well I saw your moron of a son waving his arms frantically and *****ing on the bench when you pulled him off on a PP, if that is not a poor attitude I don't know what is. This is not Atom houseleague, your son does not have to be one of the leaders in ice-time.

BTW, congrats to Guelph, you deserved/wanted it more.

The good thing is that we should be one of the top teams again next season.

The kid has been horrible all year he can not even direct a dump in shot from center on him into the corner...it is quite embarrising...and if he goes behind the net to stop the back he makes everyone nervous cause he has no idea of what to do with it...If Macdonald is back next season i can see Gerry asking for a trade cause for some reason London is in love with MacDonald...i could put up his numbers if i had that team in front of me as well!!

London being put out by Guelph may be a disappointment, but I wouldn't exactly call it an upset -- these were two of the best teams in the CHL going head to head - there wasn't an underdog in this series.

As much as I don't like the Knights team, my heart goes out to the number of London fans who have supported the team through thick and thin (the legion of bandwagoners deserve little sympathy). Your team had a hell of a run this year..... they just came up a little short.

I know Buffalo and for that matter the other 29 teams are looking for an under 6 foot dman...he got all those points playing, for the most part, 17-18 yr olds. Please if he was has that much upside do you think and organization like the Sabres (who want cheap, young players) would not have offered him a contract in the AHL?

I think he was a solid dman in junior and will catch on somehwere in the ECHL...but for a team to say he is amongst the top 180 or so dman in the world...I guess wonders never cease to amaze.

On to Game 2, Icedogs didn't put up much of a game. Shantz and O'Sullivan are alone out there. Shantz is super, score should have been 9-1. A goalie like that can really carry a poor team.

Can't really argue with what Steadman did in the playoffs though.... what did he finish with like 8 or 9 goals? and several of them were big goals. And last year he was key to London getting past Windsor in the first round, he really did a number on Wellwood. I admit he has stepped up his game in the playoffs, but I'm still praying that neither him or Logan retun for OA duty next year.

Yes thats true, he did have a pretty good playoffs.

But when it comes down to the line, you have to play your talented players over your relatives. Dale Hunter is incapable of that.

Welcome back: Defenseman Dennis Wideman will sign an amateur tryout contract with the Amerks today or Saturday, providing depth on the blue line in case of injuries.

Wideman, an eighth-round draft pick (241st overall) in 2002 by the Buffalo Sabres, was in training camp but returned to his London Knights junior team as an overage player when he wasn’t signed by the Sabres.

The Sabres opted to sign Nathan Paetsch instead. Paetsch’s versatility playing defense and left wing has been a bonus. He remains a key penalty killer.

A tryout contract..that changes everything...especially since the Sabres signed him for the following reasons:

Hey I like the guy..I liked the way he played...but maybe he should use the time to try and get into Western or Lakehead...that may help him alot more than bad press box food, collecting the practice pucks and the bus rides from Hamilton to Rochester.

A lot of junior players sign try out contracts with AHL clubs after thier season is done. It's pretty obvious though that their just not going to throw a guy in the line up during the playoffs when he hasn't been with the team all year especially a d-man.

Maybe your the one who should use the time and try to get into Western or Lakehead because you still have a lot to learn.

I guess I just don't get it...along with Buffalo's management..that Wideman is a sure bet for the NHL. Now when he slides by the 29 other teams (including the mighty Bruins..is it 1972?)...he will find a place in the ECHL.

PS I have already completed my studies so I don't need to apply to Western or Lakehead...actually I was fortunate to have completed it on a ride at Bowling Green...I guess I will have to learn to judge talent better...do you have any tips for me?
