Krefeld pinguine lost 2/3 of their players last summer after they won with Butch Goring....Then when they were struggling in december because of the player changes, they fire Goring? WHY? WHat in the world were they thinking, after he showed what a great coach he is by winning the championship, they fire him 8 months later. WHY?

Well, after all it was simply lack of success. The team he had wasn't cheaper then the championship-team. It was supposed to have a lot of talent and the poor performances became a severe economical problem due to lack of visitors. Well... They felt like they HAD to do something. :dunno:

After all I liked him as a coach but he wasn't good for the kind of spectacular hockey which fans are satisfied with also in case of losses. So he is sort of doomed to winning... He sure is a playoff-coach. But is he one to lead a team into the playoffs? It was damn close the championship year...

I don't feel entitled to judge on whether the move was a good one or not. But you never know what internal problems play a role in such things....
