The Ducks picked up his option for the next two seasons at 3 million per. I can't link to it because, well, I just can't. But pick up the LA Times, you'll see it.

Hockeyfan02 04-20-2004, 07:32 PM Good news to hear! :handclap: :handclap: Jerky Leclerc 04-20-2004, 07:36 PM Mighty Duck General Manager Bryan Murray said he would pick up the two-year option on defenseman Keith Carney after Walt Disney Co. officials approved the team's 2004-05 budget. The deal will pay Carney nearly $6 million over the next two seasons. The Ducks also picked up a two-year option on radio play-by-play announcer Steve Carroll. What a big mistake. Carney has never meant as much to our defense as past great Ducks defensemen like Dave Karpa or Pavel Trnka. McDonald19 04-20-2004, 09:03 PM Hopefully Carney returns to 02/03 form for next year. Good job Murray...now sign Tim Brent, Brian Lee, and Francois Caron by the June 1st deadline for 2002 draft picks!!! Which reminds me, I wonder what the budget is. I wonder how they can know before the new CBA. lux_interior 04-21-2004, 12:14 AM This is good news. Plus they picked up the option on Steve Carroll. Wish he was the TV play by play guy. Hockey Duckie 04-21-2004, 02:08 AM :handclap: Here, here! Defiantely good news and shows confidence in Carney. It dispels that notion he was to be traded around trade deadline. Also, $3 mil for a #1 d-man. That's a very good signing. = ) Randall Graves* 04-21-2004, 03:47 AM Which reminds me, I wonder what the budget is. I wonder how they can know before the new CBA. I imagine it will be significantly lower than this season...If it's not i hope we don't have to get used to a highly paid mediocre team. Lyons71 04-21-2004, 03:47 AM :handclap: Here, here! The Ducks need Pronger. cheesymc 04-21-2004, 04:22 AM Carney is definitely not a #1 dman... but hes a good consistent, vocal leader that ducks really lack. Finding a Pronger like player is impossible, we missed the chance to get Hatcher... I dont know anyone this yr that is even close... I think the overall team needs better attitude... but i guess its because they are playing for disney... I think the overall team needs better attitude... but i guess its because they are playing for disney... Hatcher's from Michigan. It was either going to be the Wings or the Stars. No one else had much of a chance of landing him. Besides, with his early-season injury, the Wings didn't get a whole lot of bang for their buck. soya_sauce_chicken 04-21-2004, 02:34 PM that's good news. now keep skoula as well.. :) and vish, and salei.. go ahead and throw in ozo Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 04-21-2004, 09:58 PM I really wish the Maloofs would buy the Ducks. They're great owners of the Kings, and can turn this team into a winner. Also, hopefully they do buy the Ducks, and St.Louis doesn't qualify Chrissy Pronger. The Maloof bros would try and sign him. Maybe Esiener will, too. Randall Graves* 04-21-2004, 11:16 PM We won't get Pronger...that is a pipe dream unless we say goodbye to Serghay. | ||
