I say Hartford!
Who is your favorite to win the calder?Unknownbutfamous 04-18-2004, 11:25 AM I say Hartford! a89mogilny89 04-18-2004, 12:09 PM Gotta root for the local boys, Cleveland could do it. Stranger things have happened. CapsCrazyX17 04-18-2004, 02:33 PM Portland will be tough to beat with Alexander Semin playing as well as he is. KH1 04-18-2004, 05:57 PM With Dubliewicz and Hamilton the Sound Tigers are gonna be a tough out for any team. Serena587 04-18-2004, 06:45 PM After taking 2 in a row from the feisty 'Runners, the Barons can pull anything off. I say they're the dark horse to go all the way!! :win: TarHeelThrasher 04-18-2004, 10:03 PM Go Wolves :) montreal 04-19-2004, 02:39 AM After taking 2 in a row from the feisty 'Runners, the Barons can pull anything off. I say they're the dark horse to go all the way!! :win: Hopefully not, since they are playing Hamilton, who I hope can go all the way if their goaltending holds up. Tuesday night should be a good one. I was at 2 of the Barons games this year in Hamilton and I know they are a good team and it should be a great series. I can't say I like the schedule though. First game one is tuesday, yet game 2 isn't till sunday. Way too much time off, 5 days is too long. Then with the Crunch and Rochester already starting, the winner could get a long rest if this series goes long. Evilo 04-19-2004, 07:49 AM Go Wilkes-Barre! The most stacked team in the AHL! It's a complete failure IMO if they don't reach the Calder Cup finals. Fleury, Chiodo and Caron in nets. Whitney, Orpik, Scuderi, Lupaschuk, Nemec, Nasredinne, Robinson, Koci, and Levokari on D. Murley, Beech, Koltsov, Petersen, Ouellet, Meloche, Kostopoulos, Surovy, Lefebvre, Armstrong, and Endicott on offense. No team has better depth. Most of these guys either have NHL experience or they're projected to be there soon. Not to mention the fact that Therrien is the AHL coach. I know too much depth is also a problem, but it's IMO a big disapointment to see them struggle. st_roland 04-19-2004, 07:12 PM Portland will crush you! G:Ouellet, Stana D:Eminger, Morrisonn, Cutta, Yonkman, Fortin, Zinger, Hajt F:Aulin, Semin, Gordon, Sutherby, Laich, Fussey, Mink, Tvrdon, Podkonicky, Forbes, Ciernek  Man, if you told me i'd be this excited about AHL hockey this time last year, i'd have been calling for the head-shrinker. I'm gonna have fun following the Calder Cup playoffs this year. Serena587 04-19-2004, 11:53 PM Portland will crush you! Ummm....that's if they can get past Hartford, who's got Jason LaBarbera, Chad Wiseman, Jamie Filipowicz, Jed Ortmeyer, Fedor Tyutin, Layne Ulmer, Corey Larose, Lawrence Nycholat, and of course, Jozef Balej. ;) majicpixie 04-20-2004, 02:47 AM Ummm....that's if they can get past Hartford, who's got Jason LaBarbera, Chad Wiseman, Jamie Filipowicz, Jed Ortmeyer, Fedor Tyutin, Layne Ulmer, Corey Larose, Lawrence Nycholat, and of course, Jozef Balej. ;) Yeah, that's for sure! The Pirates are going to get pounced by the Pack! And the Bulldogs better watch out for our Barons. Their bite is worse than Hamilton's bark! ;) Oh, and my favorites? Check out my avatar! :innocent: st_roland 04-20-2004, 04:36 PM Ummm....that's if they can get past Hartford, who's got Jason LaBarbera, Chad Wiseman, Jamie Filipowicz, Jed Ortmeyer, Fedor Tyutin, Layne Ulmer, Corey Larose, Lawrence Nycholat, and of course, Jozef Balej. ;) Bah.... Ouellet>LaBarbera(maybe not this year, but I think he has more talent) Morrisonn>Tyutin(probably not, but i'm a homer) Semin>Balej(of course in my homer opinion Semin is the best forward in the AHL) Gordon>Ortmeyer Its gonna be a kickass series. Unfortunatly I can only listen to it. Yertle The Turtle 04-20-2004, 04:42 PM i think philly will be hard to beat this year especially with the arival of eager and ruzicka. and nittymaki is playing great. st_roland 04-20-2004, 05:08 PM i think philly will be hard to beat this year especially with the arival of eager and ruzicka. and nittymaki is playing great. I wouldnt too much stock in Eager this year. Nittymaki is just awesome though. You're Retarded 04-20-2004, 10:50 PM Well, Portland took the first one. Hopefully they can keep this up :D Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 04-21-2004, 01:09 AM The Baby Ducks are oddly going in the same direction Anahem took last year in the playoffs. First Cincy sweeps the defending champs, and now they're going up against the top team in their division. Hopefully Bryzgalov keeps up his great player, and Chistov keeps scoring. They've got a fairly decent team on them: Goal: Bryzgalov Defense: Armstrong(still there, I think), Popovic, Motteau Offense: Chistov, Martensson, Kunitz, Glencross, Parenteau, Smirnov(can do good at times) Maybe not as stacked like WBS, but still, a fairly decent team. Hopefully they rekindle the Mighty Duck magic and go all the way. Evilo 04-21-2004, 05:38 AM Yeah well Wilkes-Barre keeps on underachieving and losing... so being stacked means nothing it seems... VanCanuck 04-21-2004, 12:15 PM my heart says cleveland, my mind the phantoms. with the baby-sens already eliminated i don't really care. Serena587 04-21-2004, 12:44 PM my heart says cleveland You are my new best friend!! :handclap: :handclap: :handclap: GO BARONS!!! :win: ThePuckster 04-21-2004, 01:40 PM Put in a word for my Cleveland Boys...Go Barons! We are on to the next round, let's see what we can do! majicpixie 04-21-2004, 02:53 PM Well, Portland took the first one. Hopefully they can keep this up :D They might have took the first game, watch out! The Pack will bounce back tonight! montreal 04-21-2004, 10:49 PM my heart says cleveland. I still think he's better than Carlo Colaiacovo, as well. Jason MacIsaac 04-22-2004, 09:17 AM Albany is the team to beat, I hear they make a really good golf team. Who wants some!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! st_roland 04-22-2004, 09:43 AM They might have took the first game, watch out! The Pack will bounce back tonight! Damn! You called it. nice job  majicpixie 04-22-2004, 05:15 PM Damn! What sort of witchcraft is this?? I predict Alexsander Semin scores 8 goals and knocks Labarberas head right off with a slapshot to the mask. majicpixie 04-23-2004, 05:45 PM Evil! What sort of witchcraft is this?? I predict Alexsander Semin scores 8 goals and knocks Labarberas head right off with a slapshot to the mask. I've just been using my tarot cards and crystal ball! :lol I predict LaBarbera catches that slapshot in his teeth (without losing any, too)! ;) jstreet 04-26-2004, 06:31 PM Milwaukee Ads! Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 04-28-2004, 09:45 PM Milwaukee Ads! They'll need to come from behind to win it, as Cincy's leading them. Also of note, the Ads haven't led the series so far this year and won't unless they win it. Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 04-28-2004, 09:59 PM BTW, I just looked at the stats, and Cincy's Stanislav Chistov, the guy who couldn't buy a goal in the big leagues, leads the Calder Cup playoffs with 5 goals in 7 games. Also, Cincy's Tony Martensson leads the league with 12 points in 7 games. And, just to rub it in a little more, Curtis Glencross is second in rookie scoring with 6 points. Glencross is the active leader, though, as Alexander Semin's Portland Pirates were eliminated. Semin's also the next closest guy to Mertensson and Chistov in their respective leads. neg marron 05-26-2004, 11:35 AM I say Hartford! i say hartford vs milwaukee in the finals with the admirals beating hartford in six | ||
