Who is your favorite to win the calder?

I say Hartford!

Gotta root for the local boys, Cleveland could do it. Stranger things have happened.

Portland will be tough to beat with Alexander Semin playing as well as he is.

With Dubliewicz and Hamilton the Sound Tigers are gonna be a tough out for any team.

After taking 2 in a row from the feisty 'Runners, the Barons can pull anything off. I say they're the dark horse to go all the way!! :banana:

Hopefully not, since they are playing Hamilton, who I hope can go all the way if their goaltending holds up. Tuesday night should be a good one. I was at 2 of the Barons games this year in Hamilton and I know they are a good team and it should be a great series.

I can't say I like the schedule though. First game one is tuesday, yet game 2 isn't till sunday. Way too much time off, 5 days is too long. Then with the Crunch and Rochester already starting, the winner could get a long rest if this series goes long.

It's a complete failure IMO if they don't reach the Calder Cup finals.

Whitney, Orpik, Scuderi, Lupaschuk, Nemec, Nasredinne, Robinson, Koci, and Levokari on D.

Murley, Beech, Koltsov, Petersen, Ouellet, Meloche, Kostopoulos, Surovy, Lefebvre, Armstrong, and Endicott on offense.

No team has better depth. Most of these guys either have NHL experience or they're projected to be there soon. Not to mention the fact that Therrien is the AHL coach.

I know too much depth is also a problem, but it's IMO a big disapointment to see them struggle.

I wouldnt too much stock in Eager this year. Nittymaki is just awesome though.

The Baby Ducks are oddly going in the same direction Anahem took last year in the playoffs. First Cincy sweeps the defending champs, and now they're going up against the top team in their division. Hopefully Bryzgalov keeps up his great player, and Chistov keeps scoring. They've got a fairly decent team on them:

Goal: Bryzgalov

Defense: Armstrong(still there, I think), Popovic, Motteau

Offense: Chistov, Martensson, Kunitz, Glencross, Parenteau, Smirnov(can do good at times)


Maybe not as stacked like WBS, but still, a fairly decent team. Hopefully they rekindle the Mighty Duck magic and go all the way.

Yeah well Wilkes-Barre keeps on underachieving and losing... so being stacked means nothing it seems...

You got my vote for these two, I was surprised Boston traded Shaone. I still think he's better than Carlo Colaiacovo, as well.

They'll need to come from behind to win it, as Cincy's leading them. Also of note, the Ads haven't led the series so far this year and won't unless they win it.

BTW, I just looked at the stats, and Cincy's Stanislav Chistov, the guy who couldn't buy a goal in the big leagues, leads the Calder Cup playoffs with 5 goals in 7 games. Also, Cincy's Tony Martensson leads the league with 12 points in 7 games. And, just to rub it in a little more, Curtis Glencross is second in rookie scoring with 6 points. Glencross is the active leader, though, as Alexander Semin's Portland Pirates were eliminated. Semin's also the next closest guy to Mertensson and Chistov in their respective leads.
