Now living on the west side of the Cascades I haven't been to a Spokane home hockey game since they played in the old Coliseum in the 1970's. I've been thinking that I'd like to check out a game or two there next season and would like to know what you think of the facilities. If you've been to other WHL venues, how does Spokane's compare to those?

Funny, I still get over to Spokane several times a year but have never thought about taking in a hockey game until now.

you should go. its a very good staduim. its up there with everett. in fact i thought it was the best one i've been to for hockey until the everett one was built. and I've been to all the ones in the US plus vancouver and kelowna int he WHL as well as the tacoma dome (sabercat config) gm place, phoenix one (before they built the new one in glendale) and the orleans arena in vegas (seattle should build an orleans clone and hockey would RULE here again)

I live in Spokane and try to go to 5-10 games a year. The facilities are top notch for junior hockey, considering they don't play in an arena used primarily for a pro team.

They used to get great crowds. Since they've stuggled the last couple of years the fan base has thinned out. I used to have trouble getting tickets for Saturday night games and now the place is sometimes not even half full, even on weekends.

If you visit Spokane during next season you'd have no trouble getting tickets by walking up to the ticket counter on game night.

I went to one playoff game in Spokane about three years ago and it's a great facility. It shocked the hell out of me after a Spokane goal, the ushers came down and started that chant they do. All Chief fans clapping then yelling chiefs! When your not used to it, seemed pretty weird from a opposite fan sitting there and listening to 6000 people chant Chiefs!

Thanks everyone. As soon as the Chiefs put single game tickets on sale for next season I'll order tickets to a couple of games. Perhaps I'll make a point of trying to get tickets to a Silvertips - Chiefs game. I have a good buddy who lives in Deer Park and I'm sure that I won't have to twist his arm too much in order to talk him into going to a game.

Again, thanks. I look forward to seeing the Chiefs in that arena.

You're right: The Everett facility is a great place for hockey. I really like GM Place but one cannot expect a WHL team to have a rink like an NHL team ( unless, like Calgary, the WHL team is playing their games in the NHL facility ).

By the way, how does the Tri-cities facility rate in your opinion?

Once you get to your seat the tri-cities one is nice. but the concource is a little narrow and there is a hill on the side the zamboni goes out. its a great town to watch hockey though.
