About a month ago, I'm almost certain I read that a franchise was going into the Target Center, and it was a done deal. Didn't see it in the list, but maybe that's why. :dunno:

Being from Detroit, I have to say Detroit is a horrible choice for any team in this new league. The Vipers in the IHL proved that going head to head with the Wings is Suicide. The IHL tried to market itself as a top tier league with teams in major markets, many in competition with NHL clubs, and look where they are.

Putting any of these teams in direct competition with an NHL franchise is dooming yourself before you even start.

I think the WHA is a bunch of HOGWASH! I'll tell you why. they have a website, and phone numbers for the cities they cliam will have franchises. I called the Portland one as did my boyfriend 3 times and we have yet to get a response. we gave them our phone number to call us back at inquiring how much tickets would be and when they will start taking deposits. again WE GOT NO RESPONSE! this league if it will happen it won't be next season that is a FACT!

I know Bobby Hull is largely a figurehead, but hispast makes my leary of supporting this league. His daughter in particular has been rather vocal about his sposal abuse, racism/anti-semitism. I don't think she or any of the people insulted by him will stand idly by.

I also believe the worst deal the NHL will offer to players (even post lockout) will be better than the best the new WHA can offer in the most cases.
