How is this guy doing? Ive noticed that hes not playing in Cincy anymore, but for the ECHL Gulls. It seems that hes really doing well. Has anyone seem him play recently or from past training camps? I realized too that hes already 24 yrs old!! I think hes got another 3 years at the navy too so I think that will really hinder his improvement. I wonder if there is any way he could get out of that agreement and start concentrating on hockey.

I remember the first year he was signed he was amazing at camp. However at this point so many players have passed him on the depth chart that I just think it is too little to late.

If you look, even Igor Pohanka who was a 2nd round pick has been pushed down to the ECHL. We have a ton of forwards right now on the farm, and no defense. Corey Pecker is another guy who was sent to another AHL team because we just have too many forwards right now.

If this is really true that the AHL team is pretty stacked, then why is Cincy such an underperforming team. I know they have a knew coach and he might be to blame, but I think its more like Igor and Pecker underperforming. Then again, Pecker might be getting more experience(even though hes old already) playing the the Gull's playoff hunt. As for Igor, I heard he hasnt done anything, maybe hes hurt (but it looks like hes a bust....). I think Gornick could have a chance but I think hes just not getting the time to develop. These minor leaguers are getting playing time that he just doesnt get. Maybe theres a chance that he might be at least another Chourinard.

Pecker wasn't sent to the Gulls. He was loaned to Binghampton. He's doing well there though. I believe they start their playoff games on Wednesday. Although, he's not a happy camper being there.

As for Gornick, he wasn't scoring but I wouldn't say that he was underperforming either. Despite Brian's tallness, he lacked on the bulky side last season, but he came back a bit more muscular this year. He sure put the hits on the opposing teams too. He improved tremendously since last season.

OH, and Cincinnati being an underperformed team has a lot to do with attitude and laziness (as it seems to me anyway) Sometimes it's like they are in la-la land. Their minds just are not in the game. Inconsistantcy and a lot of young pups that are a bit on the cocky side when it comes to the performance of their game.
We have talent no doubt. I think that next season we will see some of that cockyness fading away.

As it is, I want to get through these playoffs with a whole lot of wins! GO CINCY DUCKS!!!

Have you seen Cincy play? How do you know how they are doing? Thanks for the insight.

I think it only matters to a franchise winning in the NHL, but having a minor league team getting used to winning really helps youthful development. Just look at Cincy, I dont think I ever remember them having a winning season, and it translates to the NHL team which only made the playoffs 2 times over a decade.

Yeah. I'm in Cincy. Have season tickets to the Ducks.

I've only been a season ticket holder for 3 years now, but I have been going for the last 5 years and as I remember (and I could be wrong here....I will check on it because my memory really isn't the best) they have made it to the playoffs every season except for last season.

well...lets see....u guys say that pohanka hasnt done anything...then just look up the points and the games that some other guys on Cincy team played and i would say that he has done something...not great but for amount of time he was gettin, just enough...he cant develop unless he gets ice-time....chistov is definitely not a bright star this year and he is still pushed to the roster...
