Kariya is out indefinitely with an ankle sprain... I wonder if avs will be around long enough for him to get 1 game in this season...
Selanne only snapped a 19 game goaless streak this last week. He was a healthy scratch for the first time in his carear.
Both experienced carear lows in points.
As much as last season's maneuvering hurt the ducks it doesn't look like these guys had a great season either...
I think Kariya got paid exactly what his production turned out to be :lol:

Kariya actually did pretty well for 1.2 mil, but it wasn't the bargain they were hoping for. It certainly doesn't make up for Selanne's abysmal production for 5.8 mil.

Well I think his 36 points in 50 games is a higher production than 1.2 mil normally buys so he exceeded his paycheck but when you consider the package involved selanne and his pathetic season it obviously wasn't worth it (though you never know in the playoffs Selanne may star and Kariya may score a game 7 cup winning goal) but it defintiely looks like a poor investment for the Avs.
Kariya being injured makes no difference. The Avs aren't going to beat the Stars even with him in the lineup, so all the injury achieves is giving him a week edge on his teammates in getting to the golf store to buy some clubs IMO.
