Countless google and yahoo searches have ended fruitless. I am just starting to get interested in what goes on in junior hockey in Canada. I guess these three leagues are all under the CHL. If anyone could break it down for me I would appreciate it.
For example, this Crosby kid....where will he end up going. Also, I would really appreciate a link that would list previous CHL draft picks. I like to see where Nash's and Schremp's were picked as well as some older guys in the NHL.

Here is a link to a pdf file on the all-time bantam draft picks (that's the draft you refer to) for the WHL...sorted alphabetically. I can't speak for the other leagues as I don't view them, but try the official OHL or QMJHL sites to see if they have anything under BANTAM DRAFT

Ok thanks for the info......but also, what determines where a sidney crosby goes (i.e. WHL, OHL, or QMJHL)? Is there one big pool of juniors who get drafted by each league respectively? I heard the WHL has an earlier draft than the QMJHL so isn't that an unfair advantage for getting prospects?
Also, I am really looking for a place where they list the draft order from 1-whatever of each years and each league's bantam draft. Preferably a site where I could click on 1999 then 1998 etc.
Thanks.

I just checked out the link from Golbez and its exactly what im talking about for the WHL. Now all i need to find is the links for the qmjhl and ohl. See im just trying to piece together who was drafted where and compare that to how they did in the NHL. What other drafts/player pools should I look into next. The ncaa?....any other suggestions/links?

Thanks Van, Are there any other significant leagues that send prospects to the NHL? How many professional leagues are in Canada?

The United States is also divided into regions where each of the three CHL leagues have a right to draft players from.
What CHL Leagues have the rights to draft U.S. players?
(as for my last, post.. i didnt even know what i was saying)

They all do, but each has their own geographical "territories" to select from. For instance, the WHL has the right to select young players from Minnesota and west, the OHL gets Michigan and that area, and the QMJHL gets the Eastern Seaboard. They are all subject to the same draft rules as Canadian kids in those respective leagues (Minnesota and west are selected at 14, the other two at 15).
