The following in the Post: "Though he was not in the lineup for last night's 5-0 Meadowlands rout of the Blueshirts, he might wind up in the playoffs for the defending Stanley Cup champions. "

I thought ZP wasn't signed in time for playoff roster?

The phrase "The following in the Post" says everything you need to know.

He was already Devils' property - one of our draft picks. He can play in the playoffs as a result. If he was a straight free agent, one we had no ownership of, he wouldn't be able too.

I was at SMA today and Burns gave the day off to the team except for a few... I met Zach Parise today and he was talking to the few of us today that were there... :) I got some pics taken with him and he is a great kid and will be a fan favorite here in New Jersey. He was skating on the ice with Rafalski for about an hour. I asked Rafalski how things are coming along and he said he is almost 100% and ready to go. So I asked him if he is going to make the trip to Bostn and he said he is not sure and we will see. But he did say he will be ready for the playoffs! Parise was talking to me for a bit and I was talking the ***** with him about UND and asked him what number will he be wearing? Zach said he is not sure yet and I mentioned #17 to him and he was thinking the samething if he is the one to pick his number instead of Lou. I also mentioned to him that he will be like another player that was here that wore that number and reminds me of the one who wore that #17(Petr Sykora). After watching Zach Parise for about an hour he reminds me of the late #17 Petr Sykora... :amazed: He shoots left like Sykora and has the same build and size along with the hard heavy shot and a very accurate shot on the net. This kid Parise has been one of my favorites in college at UND and now watching him and meeting him today, he is now one of my favorite Devils and his jersey is on order...

Also today at SMA Jeff Friesen and Scott Niedermayer was there but they did not skate. They worked out in the training room and Friesen I spoke to and told me he will be fine and will make the Boston trip and play both games...

Scott Stevens was also there earlier this morning and he was skating and doing drills with the trainers and I spoke with the Doctor Bill Murray and he told me that Stevens is progressing and will be back for the playoffs. :jump: He left around 11:45 this morning and signed a few fans jerseys and pics. So I hope this will clarify that the media and the newspapers are not there everyday and they have made up stories about Stevens, but if you go to the practices like I do you will know the truth about Stevens. :banghead: The gag order is still on by Lou to the media. None of the reporters were there this morning... Stevens will be back guys and he will be a force... :D

OH it is accurate or I must have missed something while I was there with many other fans there... ;) Things are getting better along with the Devils players and the Devils will be ready to Defend the Cup when the playoffs begin... :yo: If no one wants to believe me then that is too bad for them :shakehead but lately I have been going to the practices at SMA and have been talking to the players so whatever news I put in here it is coming from them not me... :( I am just relating to what they said to me to let all of you know what is going on... ;)

Good one and nice try though... :lol

Stevens news came straight from the team doctor Bill Murray... I myself saw Stevens this morning and his car parked in the gated fence...Some fans got his autograph this morning but I missed it because I was inside watching Parise and Rafalski skating and I was talking with the team doctor Murray... ;)

Stupid? NO. But I do see you really read into things so I have to clarify it with you... :banghead: The late #17 for Sykora means that he was once here and wore the #17 for the Devils... Sorry but it seems YOU are the only one who does not understand. :shakehead You could possibly have ADD or something not to understand that... :lol

Uh, yes I do work and I have some time off right now and I am also a full time fan of the Devils as well... ;)

Parise could play in both of the home and home series with Boston this weekend or we could see Parise play in one of the games. But I do hope it is both... :amazed:

The rest of us are jealous....I'd much rather be at SMA than at work....I know what you said before about Stevens but..do you think he'll play 1st round?

From what I have heard/been reading, he has not skated with the team. He skated with Rafalski a few days ago, but now Rafalski is skated with the entire team. I have never seen him play so I can't give ya any comparisons... but he's got me excited!

He hasn't skated with the team when open to the public :)

I don't recall the team having a mandatory practice since Parise was signed.

Hopefully none. I'm not sure it is wise to take a kid with no NHL experience, no team practice time, and no real contact with his teammates and then plug him into a home-n-home series where the Division and home-ice are both on the line. Parise should be an emergency fill-in at best.

I think if he plays at all it would be Sunday and only if we lostethe first game against Boston on Saturday and had no shot at the division title.

Wheather or not we win the division, its still an impressive year, being thet we played with out our Capt for half the season, and two rookies on defense, and 1 of our top 3 def out for the last part of the season.....Lets Go and get it

You're such a positive person. I am so proud to have routing for the Devils. Maybe you should go into motivational speaking.

Have you ever considered the fact the other team is trying its hardest to win the game too? It's a highly competitive league.

Sure am, but atleast one time this year I'd like to think that, hey, maybe we can actually NOT screw up, otherwise it's :banghead:

How about time with Albany? If the Devils are in a hotly contested race for the Atlantic Division crown perhaps Parise will be sent to Albany to "get broken in"?

(Ratsgirl, do you have a line on this one?)
