Well it's mid July, which means there is little hockey news. So we at IC decided to focus on what 2010 teams would look on a Provincial basis. So far we've covered Team British Columbia and Team Alberta. Or should I call them Team Defence. Especially Alberta. Just sick.

Team British Columbia:

Coach- Tom Renney

Goaltenders:

1. Carey Price

2. Jason Labarbera

3. Wade Dubliewicz

Team Alberta:

Coach- Ken Hitchcock

Goaltenders:

1. Chris Osgood

2. Chris Mason

3. Alex Auld

As far as Team Alberta goes, I'm pretty sure Scott Neidermeyer is a BC boy.

And also on forward you didn't put Dany Heatley on there, probably one of the better ones.

Niedermayer was brought up in B.C. (Cranbrook) but he was born in Edmonton, Alberta. Heatley was born in Germany and although he was brought up in Calgary, I didn't think anyone from AB would want to touch him right now. lol.

I think we both know that Neidermeyer would consider himself a BC'er, and that Heatley should/would be on Team Alberta.

You're right. We were just going by guys who were born in the respective provinces. After I compiled my list Kyle told me that he was pulling Regher for Saskatchewan (even though he was born in Brazil). So by rights I should have included one and pulled the other.

Ah well. Thanks for the heads up though.

Not trying to be jerk but do you follow the NHL? Comrie, Calder, Mcammond over the guys I previously posted:(

Team Saskatchewan:

In searching for players to skate on Team SASKATCHEWAN, I figured it would be a team of grinders with a little talent thrown in. I think the forward group is solid if not spectacular, but I was disappointed that we didn’t have a puck mover ready to jump in to the lineup. A couple of younger players (Brendan Mikkelson for one) seem close, but not quite ready for prime-time. That said, please enjoy Team Green.

Coach: Mike Babcock

Goalies:

1. Cam Ward

2. Josh Harding

3. Dan Ellis

Team Manitoba was delayed. Here is Team Ontario:

As Canada’s largest province, it is no surprise that Ontario has produced a team loaded with skill and depth. Almost every player has been selected to an all-star team and Team Ontario would certainly be the favorite going into the tournament. Some difficult decisions were made, as Steven Stamkos was selected over Jason Arnott and Jordan Staal and Dennis Wideman was chosen instead of Rob Blake.

Coach: Claude Julien

Goalies:

1. Steve Mason

2. Marty Turco

3. Manny Legace

Still waiting for Team Manitoba & Team Quebec.

Here is Team Maritimes:

lllegal Curve has taken the liberty of grouping together the four Easternmost provinces in Canada in order to make up a squad. The team is surprisingly decent, considering the relatively sparse populations of the Maritime provinces and has a nicely balanced forward group, albeit one that lacks depth and experience.

Coach: John Brophy

Goalies:

1. Joey MacDonald

2. Drew McIntyre

3. Dan LaCosta

Team Quebec:

Here is my submisson for “Team Quebec”. Who knows, maybe someday if Quebec separates this team will actually have to take to the ice. Overall, goalies were the easiest pick as the three selected could very well be the three that will be representing Canada. The forwards include a nice blend of speed and finesse, and the defense leaves much to be desired.

Coach: Jacques Martin

Goaltenders:

1. Martin Brodeur
2. Marc-Andre Fleury
3. Roberto Luongo

With regards to some of those bottom end forwards, I think guys like Brad Marchand and Patrice Cormier may be past them. Also what do you think of Jake Allen as one of the goaltenders? He has a pretty good shot at playing for Canada at the WJHC next year and none of the ones listed are all that impressive.

Also there is something wrong in the lineup:

"Cleary-Crosby-Clowe

Ott-Richards-Ryder

Sim-Sheppard-Boyce

Pelletier-McDonald-Boulton

Jason King is my extra man"

Purcell is left out and I believe McDonald is a mistaken listing.

Good catch. Spoke to Kyle who put Team Maritimes together. He said he brain cramped. He meant to put Purcell where McDonald is.

I also asked Kyle about Jake Allen. He said "I went for experience. Allen is still in jr. Not a bad idea though, same with Marchand. Good player, shy on experience."

Team Manitoba:

Coaches (the strength of team):

Going with a two headed coaching monster to make up for the inexperience of the players. Andy Murray and Barry Trotz will stress discipline and ensure their players are responsible for their on ice actions.

Andy Murray & Barry Trotz

Goalies:

Team Manitoba will be woefully inexperienced and nowhere is that more evident then between the pipes. Will Chet Pickard’s World Junior success translate into more success at a higher level? His youth is to his detriment which is why we have lured Eddie Belfour out of wherever he is to serve as his mentor and number three goalie.

Chet Pickard, Brent Krahn, Ed Belfour
