Parise could make his pro debut as early as tonight. He said he will skate with the team this morning and then learn if he'll play tonight.
--
He'll sign a three-year contract, which includes this season. A source close to the Devils said Parise's contract includes a $1 million signing bonus for this season and two more years at $1 million a season.
"It wasn't all money," Parise said. "It just seemed like the right time to do it."
If he's assigned to New Jersey's top farm team in the American Hockey League, his contract would be worth $80,000 a year.

I don't think he'll play tonight, it said he wouldn't in the Record this morning. I don't know if he'll play his first NHL game against Boston... it wouldn't surprise me if he played a single game then moved out to Albany - but then, the question is how that effects his contract.

I didn't see that on the online version of the Record. I really hoping he playes tonight (cause I'll be there :rolly: ) and it would be cool to be there for his debut

If there was a game tailor-made for a Parise debut, can you think of anyone better than this?

Nah, the professor loves me. I'm going in early to write the quiz and get out in time to watch Sportscenter and the pregame.

Those were the days....I remember planning my spring quarter so that my classes would never be after 4 in the afternoon. Usually I'd make spring my easiest quarter in terms of classes so I could be a dweeb and do nothing but watch playoff hockey. Although I was pretty bored in 2002. I think I might have actually done some school work after the Carolina series.
