Niedermayer 1183
McCarthy 302
Whitney 273
Wisniewski* 185
Brookbank 91
Festerling* 40
Sbisa 39
Mikkelson 34
Salcido 2
Mitera 0
Rest 0

Does anyone else see a problem with the Duck defense? Maybe the Duck's can petition for larger goalie equipment!! Or better yet, sign defencemen that have played the game longer than half of a season and know what they're doing.

McCarthy was bad for Atlanta, how would he help the Ducks?

Some players that are UFA and still have not been grabbed up and might help the Ducks are Mara and Seidenberg. Trades are still another option: Blackhawks, Bruins and even Mapleleafs might be trading partners.

Murray has confirmed that he is looking to sign a veteran d-man.

The offseason isn't over yet, something will be done about the lack of a veteran presence on the blueline and I highly doubt McCarthy plays in Anaheim this season.

Kings fan checking in here. In peace.

I was wondering what the general opinion of Wisniewski was among Duck fans. I watch most Kings and Ducks games and was impressed by his play last year, especially in the playoffs. I really think he needs to be resigned especially after losing Pronger and Beauchemin.

He'll be re-signed, it's just that Murray isn't feeling very generous, and Wisniewski's probably overvaluing himself a bit. He filed for arbitration, so one way or another, he'll be in camp.

Yeah, Murray is definitely correct in assessing that we need another vet. defensemen.

I believe he just signed to play in Switzerland this upcoming season. I kind of thought we should kept him as a lower pairing defenseman, he was serviceable and played a part in helping us beat Detroit. (Which is always good in my books.)

I wish we still had O'Donnell, he'd fit perfectly with the current roster.

Any interest in Sheldon Souray? He'd replace Pronger's PP contribution and is a decent 5 on 5 defender who can and does play physical.

Yes, but can you pay for 1/2 of his salary/cap space?

What's interesting about this thread is that after the Boynton signing, Murray said his amount of games played was a key factor. Murray been reading our posts? :sarcasm:
