Very strange article since Stevens has been skating and is suppose to start skating with the team sometime this week and could be scheduled to play in the Boston home and home series... Then again, I cannot believe anything coming from TSN...

Is that what you have been hearing at south mountian arena? That he could be playing by this weekend? Just wondering where you got that from because lately you have been more accurate than these so called news organizations.

Yes I have been to most of the practices at SMA and TSN has not so today was a day off for the players but Friesen was there being treated and Madden was there with his son teaching him how to skate on the ice... I talk to most of the players after the practices and they known me for many years... So I hear things and sometimes I do not say anything but what I can say is that these newspapers have really nothing to write about Stevens and they make up some kind of stories... Lou has a gag order for the media who do attend the practices to interview other players and when it comes to Stevens progress...

What time do they practice in the morning? Is there a way to find out. Years ago I used to have a service route thay drove by there and every once in a while I would stop by and watch them, it was pretty cool, since I work nights I'd like to try and make it up there.

There are three practices left of the season this week open to the public... Once the playoffs begin the SMA is closed for the open public for the Devils. Plus they practice most of the time at CAA during the playoffs...

Times are always recorde3d on their phone recordings when you call SMA... This week the last 3 days of practice is Wednesday, Thursday and the last one to the public and fans will be on Friday...

Rafalski has been with the conditioning coach and other trainers to work out that leg. He will be skating in about a week and a half. He has been walking on it and the limp is less noticable... Rafalski will be back in the middle of the first round... ;)

And Lou seems mainly interested in putting an end to the rumors that the team doesn't believe Stevens has a concussion. I think Lou had been vague about Stevens condition because he's not being treated by the team doctors. The fact that the "Devils have been in communication with Dr. Johnston and Stevens on a regular basis" is not exactly late breaking news.

Overall you can't really trust tsn or any other sports agency when it comes to information. Lou is the master when it comes to "tricking" the media so i wouldn't doubt if Stevens comes back real soon.

Oh and for the poster that attacked thn for breaking the story, thats not some reporter making this up after watching one practice, that was Lou who said he is not 100% and that there is no timetable for his return. My speculation is they had him skate with the team to see if he could return for the playoffs, but ultimately that was wishful thinking, and he will not be back after all.

edit: the reason he is not being treated by team doctors, and the team is mreely "in contact" with his neurologist, is fallout from the Babych lawsuit. Doctors are now private contractors to protect the teams from legal responsibility.
