Babcock Joins Team CanadaBobby Ryan Getzlaf 03-29-2004, 06:50 PM As assistant to Coach Q (http://www.tsn.ca/canadian_hockey/news_story.asp?id=78309) Hopefully Jiggy and Rucchin are on that team, too. Kevin Forbes 03-29-2004, 07:29 PM the article specifically mentions Giguere though he'll be second fiddle to Luongo Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 03-29-2004, 08:17 PM Possibly, but Jiggy tends to play well later into the season. During the tournament, he could easily take the job away from Luongo. The job likely won't be decided untill a few games into the tournament. Kevin Forbes 03-29-2004, 08:32 PM the job is decided going in Luongo won the them gold last year and has done nothing to change that opinion of dominance since Giguere is a lot more of a question Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 03-29-2004, 08:52 PM the job is decided going in Luongo won the them gold last year and has done nothing to change that opinion of dominance since Giguere is a lot more of a question True, but I believe Burke was designated as starter last year, and Luongo grabbed it from him. I'm confident that Jiggy could give Luongo a run for his money. I also believe Jiggy won gold a couple years back, as well. McDonald19 03-29-2004, 09:59 PM Luongo is a lock for the number 1 spot. Giguere will go if he is the backup and gets to play a couple games. He won't go if hes the third string guy that sits in the stands. They should choose a young guy for the third string spot who wants the experience of hanging out there...but Giguere should be the backup. | ||
