(reported by team 1040)

Not much of a surprise, seeing as the moose are all but eliminated from the playoffs.

Good to see King get the first call up. He's been playing well for the moose lately. I wonder where he would play. Definately would get some second unit PP time, and a few shifts with the Sedins. Doesn't really replace May though...could Bouck be ready to return?

Uh.

We traded for Sanderson who's doing great on the second line, and now we want to replace him with a one-hit-wonder rookie ? O_o

Why ?

King will most likely fill in May's role on the 4th line. Baumgartner is a no brainer considering Allen is toast, Bergevin has back issues, and Sleger is gone. I can't believe how fast we're going through defensemen right now.

Christ, why didn't Crow play Slegr more !

??

What do you mean Allen is toast??

I think I am missing something here... He is out for a long time?

Here' a previous thread where we voted on whether King would be called up or not:

Mind you, the topic there was 'for the playoffs' so I'm not sure it applies.

p.ss. ODC, I thank you profusely for changing your avatar. JR was really getting to me :)

Well, from the looks of it, it looked like a real bad shoulder injury. And we all know how long Jovo was out for.

I would say thats a rather bold assumption and I thought there is some news about Allen being out indefinitely or something. Everyone heals differently and for all we know, he could be out for a longer period of time than Jovo, OR he could be very well be back the next couple games. Who knows!

As someone with chronic shoulder problems my guess is a partial seperation, he has had this issue before and had it operated on. I think it was a partial stinger and they are going to be careful with it. My guess is anywhere from one to three weeks.

Better safe than sorry right? Besides, Baumgartner's just insurance. Bergevin will fill in(unless his back acts up again).

King's going to turn into an energy guy I guess. Hopefully Ruutu is back soon(Anyone know anything on that front?)

Someone said (sportsnet or TSN) that the earliest they expect Ruutu back is the first game of the playoffs.

I suspect he'll be back sooner, considering that he's practicing with the team:

Who knows though. The one thing for certain is that we can't trust whatever the canucks say publicly.

Last I heard 'I think they said it on CBC' that Crowford said Allen will most likely be out a week.

And we all know how accurate Crow is with his injury predictions. ;)
