If his contribution to this team would be to give the other team some much-needed energy by agreeing to fight a better fighter while his team is leading... I think I'd rather him not be dressed in the playoffs anyways.

Bring in JIRI full time!

Not too worried. Marshall would've played 8-10 minutes TOPS in the playoffs. I'd rather see a scoring winger in there. Go Jiri Bicek.

Any shot at Pihlman or Suglobov getting called up for the last 5 games of the season? (ratsgirl, I'm looking right at you...)

Agreed. Bicek has played well, and deserves the spot on the roster.

With losing Marshall the Devils lose size, grit and timely goals from him... Marshall was a big lift for the Devils last seasons playoffs and now most of us here are writing him off. He will be missed by the Devils... Bicek I think will take his place until Parise comes...

Marshall is a good playoff performer, but he hasn't been performing, and breaking his hand in a needless fight doesn't endear me to him.

Oh damn, this leaves room for Parise :)

I don't care what you guys say, fact is Marshall played 1st line and had more goals than Patrick Elias last playoff season.

Fact is Marshall didnt have 1 playoff goal before last year. Flash in the pan anyone?

What I liked about Marshall being healthy was the need for competition for playing time. Erik Rasmussen played outstanding hockey over the last few games to prove himself. Hrdina also had an incentive to play well. I saw Marshall as depth, which is good to have.

I agree that it was stupid of him to fight. Turner Stevenson did a similar thing early in the season against the Rangers when the Devils were crushing them. Pat Burns didn't like it then, and he doesn't like now.

It was a very bad move on Marshall's side. he should have just backed away but he took one for the team and he will be missed... Hope for a speedy recovery for Marshall...
