VIEW THE FULL VERSION : OT: Splitting Center Ice Season Tickets for 2009/10?
BenedictGomez 07-01-2009, 06:32 PM I just learned the guy I split season tickets with for the last few years has lost his job and cant commit to 1/2 of the season ticket plan this year.
I'm searching for someone else to split the 2 seats with on a 50:50 basis like we've done in the past. We have a "draft" each year and take turns picking games. It's easy, and it has worked out great.
The seats are dead center ice, literally on top of the red line, in Section 229, 4th row. As an added bonus, this is the same row Mr. Krinkle sits in.
Best bargain in the arena, IMO, at only $29 a seat, which works out to about $1,250 each, a pretty substantial savings off box office or ticketmaster prices. And since they're dead center, it's pretty easy to sell off games if you cant make some of them, often at a small profit. :naughty:
If I cant find a partner to share them with, I'll just wind up listing about 1/2 the games for sale online, but splitting has been easy, fun, and efficient so far so I thought I'd try to go that route again first.
BenedictGomez 07-16-2009, 12:12 AM Bumpage (Now that schedule is out)
I Hate Tie DOMI 07-16-2009, 09:21 AM I'd love to...unfortunetly I live to far away.
The only live games I get to see are against the Leafs (where the price I pay for one game could pay for 10 games in New Jersey) and Sabres games. I split season tickets for the Sabres.
BenedictGomez 09-08-2009, 07:55 PM Thought I'd try one last bumpage on this, but it looks like I'll be going it alone this year and Stubhubbing a bunch of games.

If you want I will PM you my contact information. I get a lot of friends looking for singles or weird games day of and stuff like that.
I know it isn't exactly what you're looking for, but $30 here and there instead of a loss isn't bad...

I hear you, but I dont think I will lose any money. I'm 99% positive I"ll actually make money on the year. I've stubhubbed or DevilsTicketExchanged about 15 games over the last few years, and I've either made money or broke even at worst on all but one game (Islanders last year, it didnt sell). Since the seats are dead center, they're fairly desireable at the low price point, and I'm only paying $29 vs. $35 box office or $40 with TM fees. So even after the vultures take their ridiculous cut, I still come out ahead.
Of course, the one variable I'm not accounting for is the fact that since the entire upper level is now the same price, I have a feeling a TON of STH from literally every other upper bowl section (save perhaps corners) have probably switched into 212 and 229, which could dramatically increase the number of seats available on TicketExchange for those red line sections = potentially unfavorable supply and demand.
Frankly, I'd rather just do what I've always done and just find someone to share the year with. It works awesom if you find a person that like you, cant commit the time to 40 games. And the "game-picking" preseason draft we had each year was a ton of fun.

It's cool man, I understand.
If you ever are getting stuck on gameday with unsold tickets though, drop me a line.
Basement Cat 09-08-2009, 08:33 PM Would love to in less than 2 years when I can drive to games. Maybe if you still have ST in a couple of years and you need a partner, I'd do it.
If you still have tickets available during this season, I'd be happy to get some (later in the year).
