I think the tips need to learn how to play a bit more physical...I think they can do it though...but I think it'll take 7 and an OT for them to win
;)

I sure want to see them win

Don't go out on a limb, here

Everett is a well-coached club and have given the Giants fits this season

That being said, the Silvertips are EVIL and must be stopped...we've seen how the Wild trapped the Canucks into submission

Giants in 7 low-scoring game

I'll say the Tips in 7. They seem to fit the bill of every Cinderella team ever to play in any sport.

Giants in 3 :o

What's the season series breakdown?
Haven't the Giants handled them pretty well, home and away?

The Blazers didn't have much to say regarding the defeat:

Yeah, great article!

By the way,

Tips vs Giants this year:

It's a Best Of Seven.

I assumed Mach was just being funny...

Unless of course the thought was that when the Tips are up 3-0, the Giants concede...

Giants in 6. I'd prefer 5 or 7 or 4, since I'll be at all those games, but I think it will be 6.

I'm going down for the day on April 8 for game 4, but I'm gonna be pretty early to try and beat long weekend border lineups, so anything good to do in Everett for a few hours before the game starts?

If you like a beer, the Flying Pig Brewery on Colby Avenue brews their own. So does Scuttlebutt Brewery on Marine View Drive, along the waterfront. Anthony's restaurant right on the water overlooking the marina has a deck where you can sit outside and sip a cool one (if the weather is like it was today, 75f (about 22c) and sunny!). Guess you can see how I spend my time here!

We are thinking of coming up to Vancouver for game 2 Saturday...

We are only allowed to drink in Canada, not old enough to drink in the States yet. Any nonalcoholic fun to be had? Or somewhere that doesn't care all that much about legal drinking age?

Here in the "land of the free (void where prohibited)" they are pretty anal about underage drinking. It depends on how much time you have to kill and what you like to do...I always get in the rink as soon as it opens to watch tyhe pre-game skate etc. There is a public rink attached to the arena for public skating if you feel like it. Also, if the weather is nice, just a trip to the waterfront/marina area is ok.

Shop at the Tips team store for cool Tips gear  if you are in a consumeristic sorta mood...

there's a good chinese food restaurant across the street from the rink as well

I wouldn't recommend trying to buy beer underage in everett...and...to be honest...there isn't much to do right near the rink there

if you want to go down the interstate a bit...there's the mall..you could blow an hour there and then head back north to the rink

Cool!! you'll probably be the only Tips fan(s) there :)

There really isn't anything around the Pacific Coliseum except the Hastings Park Racetrack. The PNE grounds (if you haven't been there) is basically surrounding/in a big park, next to a housing neighbourhood. You'd have to drive a few minutes to find any place to find a beer.

I'm just curious: why is the second most expensive section in Everett's arena upper deck in the corner?

That corner is attached to the club / bar at the top of the section. The seats are wider and really padded and you have access into the building through the club entrance. No lines for food or beer etc. They have wait staff to take your order in your seat too. I don't think it is worth it. I have sat in club seats before (given to me for free) and I prefer to sit elsewhere. I think the main attraction of the club seats is the seperate entrance.

Interesting to note the goal scorers last night:

The rookie Gilbert Brule with 2 for the Giants
The rookie Zach Hamill with 1 for the Tips

Everyone knows about Brule, but by this time next year, everyone is going to know all about Hamill. I'm sure the Lower Mainland of B.C. already does (Port Coquitlam Buckeroos AAA midget).

Go Tips (in 6!)

Since game six is tomorrow I sure hope that the 'tips take it in six!

Only downside I see to going to the game tomorrow is that I'll miss the Canucks game on television.

GO TIPS!

Damn right they did it! That was an excellent game, and a great crowd. Little doubt in my mind that Everett is on it's way to becoming a true hockey town!

Good job, Tips! Now ground those Rockets!
