We were once "WC Finalists" GDT 3-28-04Jerky Leclerc 03-28-2004, 01:06 PM Ducks v. Wild 1 pm ESPN Hockey Duckie 03-28-2004, 02:00 PM Ducks v. Wild 1 pm ESPN Ahahahhahahhahaha I needed that! Spankatola Jamnuts 03-28-2004, 04:27 PM This game is horrendous. It makes me lose hope for humanity. Spankatola Jamnuts 03-28-2004, 04:40 PM Imagine how dumb ESPN feels for thinking that this would be a good game at one point. Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 03-28-2004, 04:44 PM Well, Havelid scores on the PP. BTW, where's Pete? Without him, lines look like: Niedermayer-Fedorov-Lupul Prospal-Rucchin-Schastlivy Chistov-Pahlsson-Severson Mcdonald-Krog-Burnett Skoula-Carney Ozolinsh-Salei Havelid-Vishnevski Giguere Spankatola Jamnuts 03-28-2004, 04:49 PM He got dehydrated in Columbus and went home to Anaheim to have a drink. Chistov could be suspended after slashing that yutz in the neck, whoever he was. 190Octane 03-28-2004, 05:57 PM Skoula just laid someone out hard. Did Sauer ever do that? I don't remember him doing it. Lets recap.. Sauer didn't hit and got scared whenever he touched the puck. Skoula has the best puck poise in the league and isn't afraid to use the body.. I think we won that trade. Burnett looks good out there also.. Roloson robbed him but he knocked two wild players on their ***** after he shot the puck...... Jerky Leclerc 03-28-2004, 06:20 PM The ESPN guys said the Ducks will lose 28 million dollars this year. Wow. Time for Disney to sell more DVDs of the Lion King. lux_interior 03-28-2004, 06:37 PM This could have easily been the "Watching Paint Dry" GDT. Wild Bill 03-28-2004, 08:52 PM As a fan of the Wild , I thought I would've got used to this type of slow-down/boring matchup, but 2 minutes into the 2nd...boom, out cold. When I woke up two hours later, to my delight, the game was over. I'm glad I didn't have to justify changing the channel to figure skating or NCAA tourney. Our boring brand of hockey did the trick just fine. 19 year old forward Brent "Freakin" Burns playing 14 minutes on defense? I bet ESPN was lovin' it like McDonalds. These teams should never play again. Lyons71 03-28-2004, 09:52 PM ...Skoula has the best puck poise in the league and isn't afraid to use the body.. I think we won that trade... No one on the Ducks has the best anything in the league. (unless you were joking :dunno: ) Couldn't watch this game and forgot to tape it so I'm kind of glad. I saved myself a good 2 hours. Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 03-28-2004, 10:01 PM While winning the Skoula/Sauer trade by a country mile, we also have found a second scorer from the blueline. Unlike Havelid, he can hit at times, and he doesn't turn crappy when Ozo's there to be the #1 offensive defenseman. After watching the Gaborik goal, I really believe it's time BM traded him while he still has a bit of value. Spankatola Jamnuts 03-28-2004, 10:47 PM That goal was Fedorov's fault, not Havelid's. Fedorov was off to the side watching. McDonald19 03-29-2004, 01:19 AM While winning the Skoula/Sauer trade by a country mile, we also have found a second scorer from the blueline. I agree completly...I wonder if Colorado fans will ever see it that way? :dunno: McDonald19 03-29-2004, 01:20 AM I was mostly turning back in forth to NCAA basketball...this was a difficult game to watch...Skoula's hit was the highlight of the game for me... McDonald19 03-29-2004, 02:51 AM Draft update(w/o lottery) : 1st pick:Pittsburgh 54 points 2nd pick:Washington 55 points 3rd pick:Chicago 58 points 4th pick:Columbus 60 points 5th pick:Phoenix 66 points 6th pick:NY Rangers 67 points 7th pick:Florida 72 points 8th pick:Anaheim 74 points 9th pick:Carolina 75 points 10th pick:Atlanta 76 points 11th pick:Minnesota 77 points 12th pick:Los Angeles 80 points 13th pick:Buffalo 81 points 14th pick:Nashville 85 points Looks like we will have either the 7th or 8th pick in the draft. we have 2 games left...vs. Vancouver and Calgary. Florida has 4 games left...vs...Carolina,Ottawa,Tampa, and Carolina. Carolina has 4 games left...vs...Florida,Boston,NY Isles, and Florida. Atlanta has 3 games left...vs...Toronto,Tampa and Pittsburgh. Minnesota has 4 games left...vs...Detroit,Colorado,Dallas and St.Louis. Chistov23 03-29-2004, 10:25 AM At the 7 spot it looks like we will draft another forward because barker will be gone. Is their any other defensemen that are rated to go top 10? Regardless we should get another top end prospect which will be good. Fighter 03-29-2004, 02:44 PM At the 7 spot it looks like we will draft another forward because barker will be gone. Is their any other defensemen that are rated to go top 10? Regardless we should get another top end prospect which will be good. Thelen is rising fast. Two years away from the NHL thought, but he's playing great. Green is another good one but not enough to crack the top 10. I'm concerned about O'Neill, he's big but I heard he plays soft. If we lose both Barker (likely) and Thelen (hope not), we could take a chance on a forward, Olesz would be THE dream (he's dropping a bit after the injury), especially because I'm not that excited about Wolski, Ladd, Picard and so on. It would be interesting to make a thread about Ducks strategies for the draft... soya_sauce_chicken 03-29-2004, 02:46 PM is there even going to be a next year? Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 03-29-2004, 05:32 PM Barker won't be a Duck. Once Ovechkin and Malkin go, Barker's next. The pick we likely get will be Wes O'Neil. There's also Thelen and Green, but I'd like to see BM pick up a big NA d-man. While some say he doesn't play big, we heard that about Skoula too, and as a Duck, he's played fairly big(bigger than Sauer, anyway). Green or Thelen are good choices too. McDonald19 03-30-2004, 03:36 AM Florida won...they are now tied with us (74pts) for the 7th pick...they have 3 games left...we have 2 left... 1st pick:Pittsburgh 54 points 2nd pick:Washington 55 points 3rd pick:Chicago 58 points 4th pick:Columbus 60 points 5th pick:Phoenix 66 points 6th pick:NY Rangers 67 points 7th pick:Florida 74 points 8th pick:Anaheim 74 points 9th pick:Carolina 75 points 10th pick:Atlanta 76 points 11th pick:Minnesota 77 points 12th pick:Los Angeles 80 points 13th pick:Buffalo 81 points 14th pick:Nashville 85 points Pwnasaurus 03-30-2004, 08:09 AM I wouldn't rule out Murray moving up a few spots to take Barker by dangling the Ducks 1st round pick and an expendable forward. Jerky Leclerc 03-30-2004, 09:15 AM Sucks to be LA. They worked their tail off for 70 games only to fall flat at the end. At least the Ducks can say they absolutely stunk the joint since Game 1. soya_sauce_chicken 03-30-2004, 11:30 AM Sucks to be LA. They worked their tail off for 70 games only to fall flat at the end. At least the Ducks can say they absolutely stunk the joint since Game 1. they can always blame it on the injuries.. :dunno: ;) | ||
