The good:

Elias - went from 28 goal 29 assists +17 to 36 goals 37 assists +24.
Gomez - went from 13 goals 42 assists +17 to 12 goals 51 assists +13
Niedermayer - went from 11 goals 28 assists +23 to 12 goals 37 assists +21.
Gionta - 12 goals to 20 goals
Turner Stevenson - 7 goals to 13 goals, played only 50ish games so far

The bad:

Langs... 9 goals - 22 last year
Friesen - 17 goals - 23 last year
Madden - 19 goals to 12 goals

Besides Niedermayer, our playoff heros are all way down. Elias, Gomez, Gionta, all didn't do well last spring.

So we flipped. As long as someone is scoring, who cares? Besides, I trust Langenbrunner, Madden, Friesen, and Kozlov in the playoffs - especially Kozlov because he looks and sounds like he really is waiting for the playoffs.

I'm not saying its bad, just pointing out the shift :)

I love seeing Elias, Niedermayer, and Gomez getting the respect they deserve. I just wish our other guys were scoring like they did in the playoffs, we'd be leading the league in offense.

Langs... 9 goals - 22 last year

Not to make excuses for Langs...he hasn't played up to par when healthy...but he did miss a fair amount of time with the knee injury.

I'm willing to bet that Madden, Freeze and Langs all show up big time for the playoffs. That's what those guys live for. The best are the best when it really matters.

That's Lamoriello's genius. :yo:
As I said, Kozlov is another guy who lives for the playoffs - at least, according to everything he's said. Maybe Hrdina is too. And Larionov is a proven playoff performer; who knows, maybe he'll score a goal. :p

Devils will be fine come playoffs... They will have Stevens and Rafalski back for the playoffs and the Devils will be a dangerous team... NO ONE will want to play them in a 7 game series...
