Rough translation by google:
Johnny Oduya stops in New Jersey Devils.

A contract extension will be published shortly.

Oduya highlights salary from 4.7 million to about 24 million.

27-year-old Johnny Oduya was a late Bloomer and it was not until last winter that he got his breakthrough in the NHL. But now he is ranked as one of the hottest slopes in the upcoming free agent market. But it will not Oduya to reach. He has negotiated with New Jersey Devils over the last two weeks, and soon becomes a new contract done.

It is worth just over 24 million per year and provides Oduya a hefty wage.

Last season he earned 4.7 million, but was then sharply during paid given that he sometimes played over 20 minutes per match in the New Jersey Devils.

Oduya around 3 million is a good singing. Someone would have offered 4 millions on the open market.

He signed for less than open market value yes? Which means he took the discount to stay put - so how are my hopes not realistic when he did exactly what I hoped, just not to the exact amount I had hoped for ($2.5M per year rather than $3.0)

If 16% is the margin of error for realistic then these boards are full of unrealistic hopes.

Antropov has never put up 60 points in a single season Zajac did it in his third. And did Zajac shrink over night? He's 6'2" 200lbs. pretty good size for a forward. And lets not forget he is 10x better defensively.

I really didnt want Oduya for more than $2.5M, but given the recent Dmen contracts and that ridiculous Pronger deal, it's apparent that it's a wonderful time to be a NHL defenseman. $3M? Meh.... I suppose I can live with it. It's not like a gross Gomez overpayment or anything.

I could see Oduya being like some of our past guys who really hit their prime in their early 30's. Oduya has a great skillset, though I'd say can be weak mentally, but I have a feeling that he's going to get worlds better over the next two years if we can just get his confidence to be unwavering.

You can always tell when his play or the teams play is inside his head, but when he just plays to his natural ability and doesn't over-think or let things get to him, he's a great asset to have. I think another year or two in the league and he'll have the kind of comfort and confidence that will make his (eventual?) price-tag worth it long-term.

This of course assuming Lemaire doesn't come back and completely ruin any offensive upside our defense has which is barely there to begin with.

Several of you have seen the internet reports that Johnny Oduya has re-signed with the Devils. One out of Sweden said he Oduya re-signed for approximately $3 million per season (after it was converted from the figures that were in Swedish Krona). The other one, from a site which I have no idea if it has any actual sources in the NHL, NHLPA or with the Devils, said it was a four-year deal for $3.6 million per season.

Well, Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said he was aware of the reports too and did not confirm either.

"No, there is nothing ofificial," he said.

When I asked if "nothing official" meant that the sides had agreed to deal, but it just had not been signed and registered yet or anything like that, he said, "No. There is nothing that has been done."

That said, it is clear that there have been talks between the Devils and Oduya. Lamoriello would not speculate, however, when I asked him whether Oduya would be re-signed before he can become an unrestricted free agent at noon on Wednesday.
