Way to go Teukka :handclap: I was worried a little time. Hope that Ducks will give you better linemates and much more icetime this year, because you still can score 30-40 goals. I hope that you will be healthy whole season, because Finland needs you in Olympics :)

Selänne said earlier in Finnish media that he plans to check out ducks actions in free agent market in order to make decision whethers hes going to continue his carerr or not. He said he would retire if Ducks are planning to have re-building season.

Appreantly, Ducks wants to be contender once again and Selänne will play next season and after that he will retire.

Finnish media also reported earlier, that ducks GM hopes that Selänne continues to play on next season and in order to achieve that, he asked list of favorable centers from UFA market and I bet Koivu is one of those names Selänne mentioned. He probably mentioned Jere Lehtinen aswell..

Signing Koivu and Lehtinen probably costs 6 millions atleast, and thats having them taking wage cut in order to get in same team. We have cap space for it, but budget sets the limit.. wonder how rock solid it is.

Also hoping that we sign Påhlsson back from UFA market.

Lehtinen - Koivu - Selänne

What a dreamline to Ducks ! They have played so well together earlier at Finnish team and they are like twin brothers. But that line will never happen, so sad......

Ducks’ Selanne wants to win ‘right away’ (http://ducks.freedomblogging.com/2009/06/27/ducks-selanne-wants-to-win-right-away/15449/)
The all-time Ducks leader with 352 goals and 743 points, and only 21 goals short of 600 in his 17-season career, Selanne also wanted assurance from Murray that he and ownership are committed to putting a contending team on the ice.

“The message is clear that we really want to win right away, not five years from now,” Selanne said. “We’re not rebuilding. That was the news I was expecting. Obviously, Scotty’s decision was also part of it.”

While expressing sadness at the loss of former Norris Trophy-winning defenseman Chris Pronger in Friday’s trade that fetched winger Joffrey Lupul, highly regarded young defenseman Luca Sbisa and two first-round draft picks from the Philadelphia Flyers, Selanne sees the return of the sharp-shooting Lupul as part of the solution for the shortage of secondary scoring that plagued the Ducks last season.

“If you go back to the Stanley Cup year (2007) and see how much depth we had in scoring, that’s what it takes,” Selanne said. “We all know what kind of player Lupes is. I’m expecting he’s going to be a huge part of our offense.”

What projections do you see for Selanne next season?

Second line, top pp, and 60 pts?

Probably that, 10-12 PP goals.

It also depends on his line mates, if they ice speed, he should score more

35 goals if he stays healthy.

Provided he's healthy, gets #1 PP time and clicks with Lupul&Ebbett/FA, 35 goals is very feasible.

I'd say that's about right and around 60 points. I look forward to one more year with Teemu.

Am I the only one that thinks Ebbett is not 2nd line caliber yet? He has the potential, but judging from last season he is not ready to be in an effective line with Teemu yet.

I agree. While his points totalt were ok, he got most of them against lower teams. Hopefully he takes another step further next season, cause right now he just isn't that skilled. He seems to be getting his goals in pretty dodgy ways, it's like he gets all his points because of his speed.

I think it'll be okay (not ideal, but okay) if the 2nd line has Ryan and not Lupul on it. He makes everyone better, Teemu included.

Probably because of the Olympics. Did he mention where he'll be coming back to?
